I am truly sorry that there are people from the country I reside that will wear these clothes. Usually they can also be spotted with a Pabst Blue Ribbon can and rebel flags hanging off their trailer porches. If you visit America, try to stay in the North East. They exist there too, but are far less numerous.

By saying that "ignorance can only be cured with education", you are implying that your opinion is the "education" with which you are enlightening the "ignorant" person who disagrees with you or doesn't like you. That seems like a pretty significant leap in logic - and one that is all too familiar around here. If you examine that statement for what it is - it doesn't need anyone's 'opinion' to be valid.
A quick trip over to dictionary.com tells us that "ignorance", by definition, is "the state or fact of being ignorant; lack of knowledge, learning, information, etc.". So when I say that "ignorance can only be cured with education" I mean just that.
Now, while I do consider myself fairly well educated - both scholastically and through my various life experiences - in no way do I feel like I am enlightening most of the people who frequent this site with my opinions - I am simply taking the opportunity to express them, and give equal opportunity for divergent opinions to be defended under scrutiny - just the same as I usually find myself defending my own. Of course, I tend to think that some people are wrong - and that has been proven to be the case many times over. Occasionally, (inevitably) even though I happened to be convinced of my 'rightness' on a particular subject it does indeed turn out that I am wrong.
This doesn't happen very often - but when it does I embrace it.
Unfortunately - most of the people who find my particular opinions "inflammatory" have no fucking clue what I believe - they tend to assume that because I lean "left" or have a very liberal attitude on certain things that I am a "commie" or some sort of activist and strive to completely marginalize anything I have to say. I happen to speak in very general terms about our pattern of "willful ignorance" as a society - but this doesn't mean that I think I am smarter than everybody - although the simple fact is I AM smarter than most people. So the questions remains: Is that declaration of intelligence inflammatory or just a fair assessment free of humility?
Now, do I think other people on this site are smarter than me? Yup. Lots. This is why I enjoy hanging out here so much.
As far as trolling? I certainly don't think I fit into that category. I distribute FAR more positive energy around this site than negative. I encourage new users and have a great appreciation for effort and attitude. I will stubbornly defend my opinion and if engaged in a good solid e-scrap - I will generally strive to get the last word in and while that is certainly a failing of mine...it's one that I'm fully ok with.
Oh, and I tend to be rather verbose - but sometimes it takes a while to explain myself - and I love the sound of my voice (look of my text.)

I respectfully disagree with being the one labeled as "inflammatory". Most of my time is spent either defending my opinion or attempting to explain it to people like Caul who don't even bother to fully read it in the first place. I give as good (or better) as I get - but I am not usually the one starting the fights.

I think you'll find that the 'incredibly stupid' things done with guns are normally performed by people who are using the gun in an illegal manner. In the commission of a crime, or shooting in an unsafe place, or something in that vein. I, as a responsible and law-abiding gun owner, do not use my guns in such an irresponsible manner.
I do not argue that everyone should have a nuclear weapon. But by your argument, cars should be banned because every day hundreds of people are killed and injured by them. More, if you check the numbers, than by guns. Turns out you can buy a car without even a background check.

I have no real issue with people disliking me.
I would much rather people liked me - I think I give off enough good energy around here and in life to promote such an outcome - but I also know that due to my particular disposition, my strong opinions and my penchant for blathering on and on - I will invariably offend some people around here. I do my best when presented with various comments from the offended parties to explain my self, and engage them in conversation that I truly hope will bring about some meaningful discourse.
