Ok, for those of you who aren't familiar with the name Quanell X, he is a black activist seen alot here in Houston. All over the southern region though when needed. I cut, copied some tid-bit information here and there off the internet, to more familarize you with some of his famous protests here in the Houston area. The shocker comes at the end.
HOUSTON (KHOU) -- Slavery was outlawed in America 137 years ago. But some African-Americans now want monetary compensation for years of slavery endured by their
ancestors. A united group asked the Houston City Council for support.
They carried signs, waved flags and chanted loudly, "We are not here asking for anything," the group said. "We are demanding reparations."
This group of descendants of slaves is fighting for compensation that they say their ancestors never got.
"We are a people that have lost our culture," said activist Quannell X. "We have lost our religion. We have lost our mores and forays. We are a people that have been robbed."
"Reparations now" is their battle cry. It was aimed at the Houston City Council. They were asking members for their help, and reminded them symbolically just why they should. "Mothers and fathers, men and women, children hung from these ropes," said Quannell X. "How could you not support reparations?"
Mayor Lee Brown (let me add here, Mayor Lee Brown is also a black mayor), said that a resolution might be in order.
"And that's what it's all about," he said. "To look at the issue and then come up with some determination as to what this country should do in respect to slavery."
But councilman Bruce Tatro disagreed. "I just believe it's inappropriate for the city to be weighing in on," he said. "A vote by the city means we support the entire reparations."
For the next generation it's a lesson for future legacies. African historian Alafia Gaidi explained, "There's a reason why millions of Africans who've come to this country before us was never able to leave any kind of inheritance for their children, they were never paid."
This local push is part of a national effort to support a Slave Reparations Bill recently introduced in Congress. Thousands plan to march on Washington on August 17 to lobby for the bill's passage.
Someone else then added to this topic:
"We are a people that have lost our culture"
It's funny how a taxpayer funded handout check will make it all better. And for those of you who do not know Mayor Lee P. "Speaking Lessings" Brown's ally Quannel X, he's a black supremacist who heads up a neo-Black Panther movement. He has publicly expressed his blind hatred of white people and one time directed his followers to go into the River Oaks section of Houston and mug whites at random in retaliation for the execution of convicted murderer Gary Graham. Despite his bigotry, Quannel is also a darling of the local left wing dominated media.
End of pasted material.
A more recent event nothing more than a month ago I guess, Quanell was in the streets of South Houston, screaming his famous line of "IT'S RACISM IT'S RACISM" over the most MUNDANE event I had ever witnessed. Evidently, this old couple owned a peice of property, that was an old graveyard. Nothing owned by the state, this was privately owned. Well, the couple didn't keep the grounds up to standards and the land had started to grow over. Like i'm sure of you have all seen an 'old' and grown over cemetary. Well Quanell came to Houston, of course the news followed and he was confronting the man (a white man- oh great) about why the land had not been kept up. Evidently this was an older gentleman who had just fallen behind. Well Quanell IMMEDIATELY starts screaming on the t.v, that the land was purpously not being cared for, b/c some black people were buried there. Even though the majority was white. It didn't matter.
I didn't follow up on this event, as I thought it was pure ignorance and was astounded at such stupidity.
Well..here comes some info that sent me into shock.
This is going to start to sound as a 'he said she said' story, but hang in there with me.
My fiance works nights. Well he works with this really large black woman everyone loves and refers to as 'big mama'..in a loving manner. She loves everyone and anything she touches. A very sweet woman. Well Big mama, had engaged in a conversation one evening about the possiblity of another black co-worker they worked with, being racist. Not a real deep conversation or anything, but Big-mama had mentioned that she felt as tho the other black woman treated her with dis-respect, b/c it was well known that big-mama was in a very happy marriage, to a white man.
Well my fiance and her continued their conversation and somehow got on the subject of marriage. My fiance had told her about our upcoming marriage next year, and she congratulated him. She then went on to say that her son (half black and white) was also getting married here soon. To a beautiful oriental girl. And proceeded to show pictures. My fiance is complimenting her on what a nice couple they made, and big-mama looks at my fiance with a strange look in her eyes. Says to my fiance, you're never going to believe this, but I have a picture in my wallet that could ruin someone's reputation.
Out of her wallet, she pulls a picture of her future daughter in law, standing next to her beautiful oriental sister. Well standing next to the sister, is the sisters husband, Quanell X. My fiance immediately recognizes him, and takes the picture saying ,"Oh my god!!...He, of all people is married outside of his race?? A race he defends so vailantly?!?!" She then proceeded to say, that this was evidently a huge family secret, that if the media had ever gotten ahold of such information, it would ruin his reputation. But that when she had gone to the house of her future daughter in law, the wedding pictures were all over the place, and sure enough, it was him.
I had decided that I was going to re-search as much as I could to find out if anything and any point in time had ever been said, but walked away with nothing. The name he married under i'm 100% positive was NOT Quanell X. And so far, he has done a very good job in keeping his marriage under wraps...
Untill now!
"We are a people that have lost our culture," said activist Quannell X.
So I say to to Mr. Quanell X, maybe it's because of hypocrites like you that you're culture is being lost.

A good semi-political post, normally this would call for a +1 or 0. Out of pity that no-one has reviewed this, and this is a good article, +2
