Lars Olsson Smith -- The King of Vodka
Absolut Vodka is a contemporary phenomenon. First exported in 1979, Absolut Vodka quickly soared to one of the best-selling premium vodkas in the world today.
It has been a success since 1879.
V&S Sprit AB wanted to call it "Absolut Rent Bränvin", which was changed to "Absolute Pure Vodka", but could not be registered in the US. "Absolute" was a common adjective and could not be a trademark.
The final "e" was dropped removing the legal obstacle and adding an extra Swedish touch.
"Pure" also posed legal problems and was removed.
Since 1979, Absolut has run countless ads celebrating everything from The Flintstones to The Sex Pistols. Every one of them was memorable.

OK fine, maybe that was harsh. But really, it's not very often a literary legend shows up in a liquor ad in animated form.
My friend made the image into a mousepad for me. I really like Vonnegut.

I am hanging my head in shame. Vonnegut is, in fact, a legend.
Perhaps in an APW or SPT in the future....you may just get all the Vonnegut you can choke down.

I freakin' hate those ads, always have. But then again, I hate all advertisements. Also, I used to cut the pieces of shit out of magazines and sell them to fools at my school who collected them for like $2-5 depending on how 'cool' it was. Also, Absolut tastes like absolute ass.
