I gave you guys a break for a few months, but the break is over. It's time for another D-Prime Madness. And this time I am going to go the whole way to make it better.

To start, the name. Instead of going for the obvious next step "IV," I have decided to call it "SP" to represent that it will be different. Don't take this as a presumptuous evaluation; even if it ended up bad, it would still be "special." Whether or not that adjective ends up applying in a positive way is up to you and me.

The first thing I'm going to do differently is break the hatred for UberMadness as well as the general theme of obnoxiousness. I believe it was funny then, but outlandishly negating others isn't really the best way to be taken seriously. Believe it or not, I do understand that.

Second, I am going to encourage suggestions. It is still run by me and for me (and those who wish to associate themselves with me,) but that it's subordinated to my Godly will doesn't mean I can't take input and decide whether or not it's worth including. So consider this post the DPM : SP suggestion box. It's going to happen, so you may as well make it better. I'll read all the input I get. Disclaimer: "Fuck off and die faggot" does not count as a suggestion, but go ahead and say it anyway. I will also consider the constructive and pseudo-constructive criticism DPM has gotten in the past.

A few other additions I'm throwing in is the fact that I will make-up my mind about a format that will work no matter what before hand, not over-post (and with that try to communicate more efficiently,) be more consistent in my updates (which I now have the ability to do,) advertise thoroughly but in a less obnoxious way, etc.

I don't expect to start it for a while, when it has gotten the time it deserves, so DPMSP posts should be relatively sparse. If you want to help run it, including Darko, Bubba, and others who have done so, give me the word.

Lastly, you can't officially join yet, because if I allowed that so early many would forget and no longer care by the time it started. But express your interest here and I will remind you when we do start taking entries. I will attempt to make it so those who want a fun website-content/writing contest without the inane bureaucracy of UM or the obnoxious inconsistency of DPM will get what they want.

So what do you say?

Good idea, but with SUPA going on right now, it would make for a very contest-loaded Uber.

This present deal will be done by the time the first third of May is in the books.

If you want to shoot for after that, or somewhere around that time, you may attract more people.

As the moral winner of the previous D-prime madness, I will probably be retaining my moral claim on the title by not entering and risking the possibility of being legitimately knocked out....if I were to make a suggestion, it would be to have an actual cash prize......doesn't have to be much....just $10 would do....$5 even.....best not use Canadian$ though.....

If I play, my entries will be old posts made by someone else with a different title.

When is D Prime Madness Vista coming out?

It all happened at the beginning of that turbulent decade known as the
eighties. Those were idealistic days: the candidacy of John Anderson,
the rise of Supertramp. It was an exciting time to be young.
