Hey, what about Anubis? (the god with the dog-head); Didn't he sail his boat on the Styx and collect all the dead, to sail 'm to the underworld? Or is that a completely other mythology

Yep, you are correct. Anubis's original duties were to take care of cemetaries. Later, he became responsible for guiding the dead to the Underworld. He had the head of a jackal.
The mythology was constantly evolving. Egypt was even responsible (unwillingly) for the earliest recorded monotheistic religion. The new religion involved sole worship of solar god Aten-Re...Anubis's father.

the Egyptians saved the heart, liver, and a couple other chest organs but not the brain. according to my professor, this is because the Egyptians didn't know what the brain did and therefore couldn't know it was the most important organ. i think it probably looked like a pile of shit after they pulled it out through their noses so they tossed it.
