This is the building in which the swimming and water events will take place during the 2008 Olympics. Known as the "Water Cube", its being constructed out of a plastic membranes placed over an aluminum frame. The plastic forms bubbles which are to be inflated with low pressure air which will serve to insulate, resist strong loads, and look really fucking cool. When completed, the building will actually be somewhat translucent. Its scheduled to be finished in October of this year.
