My favorite part of this story is that, if you actually read it, it has nothing to do with homosexuality. all of this is a misinterpretation of a story about inhospitality. The city of Sodom was filled with a bunch of dickheads, and God got pissed and exerted some authority over them. He was still breaking in the controls at this point, I think. This whole all-powerful, all-knowing, and omnipresent thing was still new to him.
