I saw a swarm of these fellows around a street lamp after we had a huge amount of rain. I freaked out. And to this day, it is the only insect that "bugs" me out.

I'll attest that these fuckers hurt like hell when they bite you. They make the fire ants in Florida seem like they're attacking you with tiny little pillows.

There was an incident last year involving one of these Giant Bugs in Dubai. It was washed over by the media and nobody really heard about it. Most likely due to the large amounts of money being exchanged over in that region. (Large corporate network payouts, I'm sure.)
