President Bush said he will veto the latest war spending bill taking shape in Congress, which includes a timetable for withdrawing from Iraq.

This is kind of like hearing 'that kid' in the schoolyard say "I'm telling the teacher!" if another kid pulls on his headgear one more time. It's no surprise that this whiney bullshit is surfacing now that Democrats have majority control in congress.
And Cheney seems to share Mr. Bush's sentiments as well, saying that withdrawal from Iraq is tantamount to 'failure'. LIKE IT'S UNAMERICAN TO WANT TO PUT AN END TO DYING SOLDIERS.
I don't typically get involved in matters of this nature because quite frankly, I'm too caught up with fucking coked-out sluts and making money hand over fist. However when self-motivated, immature threats like this come from the mouth of the man who is supposed to be leading this country I can't help but take notice and at least vent about it.
Gosh Ubersite is such a great blog. I love venting on this Ubersite blog. Everyone is so welcoming and respectful of others' opinions and perspectives.

I'm sure you're not lying about either of your statements, so I'll give a crash course in Am. History in case you ever want to parade your knowledge in front of your peers.
There are three branches of the U.S. gov't. Executive, including the President and his staff, Judical, including the Supreme Court justices, and Legislative, which encompasses the Congress (the Congress being comprised of the House of Representatives (elected officials from each State serving in equal proportion to the populations of their States) and the Senate (two representatives from each state).
The Legislative branch has the power to make laws and ratify them into existence-a hefty amount of power. Therefore, they gave the power to veto (knock down) those laws to the Executive branch. The Executive branch also has the power to ENFORCE those laws, another huge dose of power. To check his authority, the Legislative branch, after having a law vetoed, can resubmit the law back through the Congress, and if a two-thirds majority is won, the law will be passed regardless of the President's veto. The Judicial branch has the power to interpret law, which can be as powerful as any of the other powers (see Roe v. Wade for the ultimate cliche case in which the Supreme Court interpreted the right to privacy as including abortion). The other two branches have their respective checks and balances on the Judicial branch.
In essence, you have three groups of one government that each have immense power. To balance it all out, each group ALSO has influence over the other group, which is the best way we know to ensure that the will of the PEOPLE (who have the real power in any democracy) is enacted.
Therefore, I understand the analogy you're making and why you're making it, but it's not entirely appropriate, for the reasons I've stated above.
