Seriously.
I think they are winning. They've at least scored major points this round.

Nutshell (from the post):
"Matt (webcomic mastermind behind www.machall.com and the relatively new www.threepanelsoul.com) was working as a contractor for a branch of the government. He made the mistake of being interested in the hobby of paper target shooting at about the same time as the VA Tech shootings and talking to someone about this hobby at work. Keep in mind he wasn't even talking about those shootings, in fact he was discussing how he wanted a gun which would make it difficult to kill someone.
He was promptly fired and not allowed back to work because people were scared of him.
To top it all off, he was later visited by police detectives for making a comic about his experience, because it was a "borderline terroristic threat." "
Now, I'm not a conspiracy theory nutter, and I try hard not to be a knee-jerk reactionist. But this seriously makes me sick to my stomach. For the first time in my life, I'm actually concerned in a big way about serious fundamental changes to First Amendment rights and the US moving to a heavily-censored state. And that's not hyperbole.
So, am I being overly paranoid? Let me know. If you think it's a cause worth highlighting, chain letter away.
(Yes, and hello, again. It has been a while since I've posted on here. I'm pretty much using Ubersite as a megaphone to reach ears, because this is rather disconcerting.)

less terrorists winning and more conservative-idiocy winning I think.
-----------
I don't think you can confine this type of idiocy to conservatives.

There is this guy here in A-stan that I work with. Before taking this job, he had NEVER left his home state of...yeah, you guessed it...Arkansas.
So it was funny as hell when we flew into Kuwait International airport and he started looking around at all the men dressed in man-dresses and kalfkahs and saying (in a VERY steriotypical redneck drawl):
"God Damn. There thore are alot of dem terrerist sons-ah-bitches round these parts."
+2 for reminding me of that and making me laugh.

I'd need more information on this to be sure...
but I agree with you. Although you might not agree with my post here: http://www.ubersite.com/m/101166
But I'm torn between the two. I don't know, a school is different, in my eyes. A student at an educational institution should be taught to follow certain realities in life if for nothing better, to teach him/her how to be a responsible adult. I suppose it's different at a job. I'll think on it and get back to you but this is a point of confusion in feeling vs. reality for me personally.

The arrest of the "terrorists" in Jersey(?) for shooting a firearm, at a gun-range, in a threatening manner, is one of the best made-up charges I have ever heard.
