...but that is for a different post.

When I was younger, or young, I used to write quite a lot of music. Mostly for piano. Some for guitar. With marriages and a kid...not so much any more. Plus, I prefer drinking beer and watching baseball on weekends.

Bit drunk.

The attached file is an experimental piece. Very short. I wrote it this week after discovering some nice music-writing software, which makes this the first piece for piano that I have written without actually having a piano in front of me. The software is called Anvil Studio. I spent an hour putting the notes down, and another hour or two tweaking it. Still needs some work...if not disposal. Beer gives me balls. Gargantuan thingies. Like that time I won second-place in the karaoke contest in Payson. Fucking embarrassing, after I sobered up. Still, second-place, bitches. Lost to a sympathy vote. Part of me hopes I'm never so drunk as to enter a karaoke contest again. Fucking embarrassing. Still, second-place, bitches. Sinatra. It's 3:23 a.m. and I'm one helluva typist with this spellcheck thing.

I like The Final Cut, too. I used to have the lyrics of The Gunner's Dream hung on my wall, next to my Jimmy Page poster, when I was about 16. Long fuckin' time ago.

My favorite song on the album.

It, and that song especially, are probably most responsible for bringing my best friend and I together. 13 years later, he's still the one and we still listen.

hahahaha you drunken arizonian

I HATE THAT VERSION OF 12TH NIGHT!!!!!!

Not that Helena Bonham Carter isn't good, but everybody else SUCKS

Shakespeare comedies don't seem to transfer well to film... I can't think of one I've liked...

BTW, the girl (or woman, really) playing Viola (not pictured) did this show after playing Belle in the Broadway production of "Beuty and the Beast"

Yes I am a very famous stage actor.

A midi file? Going old school. I swear, if it was 1989 and I was on an applie macintosh, I'd so listen to it.

Nice stuff.

I composed a rendition of a song from Ocarina of Time once, using elements from all of the ocarina songs. That shit worked out great.

You wrote it and played it on the PC, right? Lots of contemporary music is written using only computers, it doesn't make it less valuable that it isn't an actual piano. So ssshh.

I just woke up. My head hurts. I should clarify: This is a midi recording; it's the computer playing. I just programmed the notes. I play piano, buy I pretty much suck. Thanks, though.

I really dug it, but I felt that during the parts where there was only one hand (I'm assuming) playing, the other hand could have played single chords to accent what the other hand was doing - it sounds like a fun piece, but it can be expanded a little to really be something :-).

felt to me like a kind of boogie-woogie.
recently been listening to satie, who uses some riff's alike these, big fun!

(i might even steal some notes here...)

And i consumed some vodka yesterday, and the world is a different place, cheers!
