What is the differece between burning a CD for your Friend or ripping a cd and uploading it to your Friend?
In other words, sharing music is not illegal in the physical sense, but once it's shared over the internet it is.
Why are movie production companies not making waves over downloading movies?
Battling consumers is not the answer. As computers evolve and integrate into our lives we should not be forced into ignoring their capabilities.
What will be the outcome of these record companies going after the little guy? Just ask Metalica what happens when you say Fuck You to the fans. And they expect us to pay $17 for St Anger?

The people who are trying to stop all of this - are they an american organisation?
And if so what can they do to people outside of america?

Actually, you've got your legal facts wrong there. I'd done a little research earlier on for an article I had to write on this subject (I've forgotten the specific site links, but try running a search on Google on copyright laws, music piracy, internet laws, etc.) and it turns out that
(a) Illicit copyrighted file trade over the internet with anyone, friends or otherwise, is illegal.
(b) Burning CDs is fine, but they cannot be sold or publicly distributed without legal permission.

Music piracy is there and never going to go away.. If they block access to kazaaa, morpheus winmx edonkey and all other shit .. what going to happen? people are going to open FTP server and share it over mirc.. so it's never going to end, people from the music market thing they are powerfull since the make naspter close but they going to see it's was only 1 service to share the music and when they close 1 , 100 faster and better other appear.
For Metallica, they suck, i hate them , everytime i see them on tv , i listen to him and i hate them more, the only thing they want is money and too look cool. have you ever seen a metallica fan?
Mullet Power! did i say i hate them?

Actually, they are going after people who download movies. Simply put, they're losing money from it.
