Wikipedia, the hydrocephalic cousin of the Encyclopedia, has something to tell you about this guy:
Albrecht Dürer (May 21, 1471 - April 6, 1528) was a German painter, mathematician, and, with Rembrandt and Goya, is one of the greatest creators of old master prints. He was born and died in Nuremberg, Germany and is best known for his prints, often executed in series, including the Apocalypse (1498) and his two series on the passion of Christ, the Great Passion (1498-1510) and the Little Passion (1510-1511). Dürer's best known individual engravings include Knight, Death, and the Devil (1513), Saint Jerome in his Study (1514) and Melencolia I (1514), which has been the subject of the extensive analysis and speculation. His most iconic images are these, his woodcuts of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (1497-1498) from the Apocalypse series, his "Rhinoceros", and his numerous self-portraits. Dürer probably did not cut his own woodblocks but employed a skilled carver who followed his drawings faithfully.
I find this biography a bit limiting, as it says nothing of his tryst with Marie Gustave-Hardenne, the Felange de la Doucherie nor does it explain why having penises on his elbows gave him such an edge over his contemporaries. Here's a hint - it all has to do with balance. It doesn't discuss his crippling addiction to jelly beans, either. Stupid Wikipedia. Dürer had one son named Jimothy Nurer, who was forbidden to take his father's name after he proved himself a tard. Albrecht came up with a more appropriate name, inspired by the sound his son frequently made. Jimothy Nurer's bloodline is alive and well in the modern era, most notably in the form of one Jeffrey Wellman.
