I am not a liberal. I don't go to environmentalism rallies, I've never attended an anti-war protest, I am pro-gun and I am pro-free market capitalism. I believe there should be less government influence on the economy and less regulations- smaller central government, in other words.
I am not a conservative. I do not believe in the death penalty, and I am pro-choice (although by a small margin, 51-49, because face it folks, abortion IS killing babies. But the woman has the right to choose.) Though I do solidly believe that guns should remain legal in this country, there is no reason for any citizen to own an assault rifle of any kind, period. No sawed off shot guns either, nor hand grenades, nor rocket launchers- semi-automatics are enough. Period.
Furthermore, I do believe in social welfare programs, I do believe that the poor get poorer and the rich get richer because of the dog-eat-dog nature of our economic system. It is MUCH harder to crawl out of the thumb of poverty than anybody likes to think. The American Dream? Yes, it IS a dream, and not reality.
I think I've firmly established that I'm what you would call a moderate, or perhaps Independent. I vote in the issues, not along any party lines. Why would anybody label themselves with a huge group? By saying you're a conservative or liberal, republican or democrat, you are saying that you believe in a certain set of values that the group advocates, that you believe in all of them. Perhaps you are pro-death penalty AND pro-choice- you can't be if you're a conservative, because then you're not really a conservative at all, are you?
That said,
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THE RIGHT WING? Granted, the extreme left wing (cough, ETS, cough) is just as crazy in their own ways, but they're easier to dismiss- it doesn't boil my blood like the extreme right does. The crazy left I'm talking about spouts between bong hits stories of crazy conspiracy theories and beliefs that we should all live in social communes.
But the right...BUT THE RIGHT...
They just think that they ARE right, no questions asked! The worse part about it is the moral condescension that comes along with it, as if by disagreeing you are a worse person. It's all based in religious nonsense, it makes huge flat statements that are clearly not true, and they won't listen to LOGIC or REASON, even when it directly contradicts an argument they have. What's more, they often ironically label their ideas as "thinking clearly" or "back to logic".
FUCK
Read this, it's from worldnetdaily.com, a Conservative website. It only takes a few moments of exploration through the rest of the site to truly be enraged and puzzled and saddened that people like this actually exist.

electric tooth syndrome, in the northern areas we don't really give a damn about religion, we believe in god (Most people are anglican) but we don't let that interfere, we choose our morals but ultimately the role of a prime minister/president is to fulfill the will of the people, so you think about it from their perspective rather than just your own

so you're a centrist, your opinions mirror those of many "northern" ontarians, who believe that people should not be able to scam the gov't for money, but should not starve, should be able to have rifles and shotguns (Hunting weapons) but not concealable weapons. We believe in pro-choice only because, the woman does deserve the right, not because we believe in killing babies. The problem we have is when people bring religion into politics
------------
Problem is, you can't keep religion out of politics. At least not if you're religious. How can you? If your moral code is based on a religious belief, such as a belief in the sanctified soul of an unborn baby, how can you possibly separate that and justify it to yourself? Nay, how could you even live with yourself if you didn't speak out against something you saw as fundamentally wrong?
This is a very atheistic and hedonistic assumption that this complete separation can be accomplished. That's not to say compromises cannot be reached, or that wider understanding beyond just the fundamental religious belief is impossible, it's just that one cannot expect one to simply check his entire belief system at the capitol door.
Furthermore, do you think that it's "keeping religion out of politics" to infringe upon a person's right to pray anytime he or she sees fit, even if it's during a state-sanctioned, taxpayer sponsored event? That's just as absurd and oxymoronic as thinking that religious politicians should bear the responsibility of expelling their beliefs for the benefit of everyone else.
It's a catch-22. Then there is the troublesome matter of how to define "religion". The way I see it, scientific theories could just as easily qualify as a "religion" since the element of faith is ultimately just as prevalent in the scientific process as anywhere else, it just carries the appearance of empirical truth because of repeated observation. The faith comes into play wen one assumes this observation will always be the same, not to mention in astrophysics that Planck Time marks the point beyond which all physical laws break down and reality as we know it becomes meaningless.

I don't think that ETS is left wing, based on his posts...that is, if you actually take the time to read them. Yes, sometimes it seems that he might be trolling a bit, but that's amusing.
Not all democrats are liberal. Not all republicans are conservative. In fact, it seems that whatever faction is out of power becomes conservative by default - because they are unable to formulate spending packages due to lack of clout. The political parties partake in what is known as mass niche marketing. In recent years, the dems have courted the greeny-tree-huggers, and the rep's have associated with the bible-thumpers. This, right away leads to the accusations of environmental travesties, using government to push a religious agenda, and whatnot.
The fact is: BOTH major political factions have no beliefs. They are all whores who will tell you what you want to hear in order to get your vote. As soon as you give them their dollar, your lapdance is over. It boils down to red team vs. blue team.

Ok, well, if we weren't living in a media-orchestrated Orwellian puppet pageant of world domination where left and right were antiquated concepts...he would be right wing.

PS: the conservatism that's shoved down your throat isn't even real conservatism. The term has been completely hijacked and bastardized by a bunch of power-hungry neo-con fascists. Same with the so-called "left". It's not about populism, it's about veiled fascism and complete world domination.
Hilary is a Bilderberger and Giuliani is a fucking mobster and a murderer. If more of us don't pull our fucking heads out of our asses and FAST, you can look forward to it getting much much worse in the future.
Rupert Murdoch supports Hilary Clinton. This whole thing is one big pageant of puppets and the conclusions are foregone. They each play their little role and smile and kiss babies knowing the whole time what the fucking score is and who they owe their allegiance to. Asky yourself why the mainstream media pushes this notion of "first tier candidates" and "second tier candidates" on us? Do you really think it has jack shit to do with polls? Ron Paul has won or placed in the top of virtually every one they've tried to conduct so far and they're calling for him to be forced out of future GOP debates!
If Americans don't wake the fuck up and see that they're being had very fucking soon, they're gonna wake up with a revolution on their fucking hands and wonder how it came to this.

I'm not left wing. I'm for small government.
These notions of 'left' and 'right' are completely antequated terms since the corporations run it ALL.
Wake up! You're living in a highly controlled Orwellian society where the television tells you to jump and lie down. Like a little lemming, you're doing it right now without even realizing it.
Keep talking about 'left' and 'right' though...that'll solve everything.
