Special thanks to Sinistral for convincing me to keep writing this series.

Between the rows of half-empty trophy cases and a giant logo plaque with its eagle diving in claws-out ferocity, circles of teenagers gossiped about this and that. Some were talking about the bus incident, and a few others chatted about the war, but most discussed clothing, crushes and plans for the week. Tom slapped hands with Reggie Cleveland, who was chewing gum and wearing sunglasses. He was talking with two guys Ricky hadn't met. "What color we at?" Tom asked. He was referring to the Threat Level. Reggie's self-appointed job was to assess the student vibe and assign a color-coded evaluation to the daily likelihood for a Murder Fight. "Except for this guy," he said, pointing at Ricky, "nobody's been up to anything. Killed, zero. Wounded, zero. MF Alert: Green."
"Shit, wasn't yesterday a Green?"
"I started that Murder Fight."
"Oh. Yeah."
Ricky heard some people whispering about him in a neighboring talk-circle and somebody in a Sum-41 shirt was looking at him from next to the vending machines. He didn't want to risk starting another massacre, so Ricky decided to make his way to class. "Hey, I'll just catch you guys later," he said.
In Mr. Hawkins' room, Mme. Roulette told Mr. Hawkins, "These kids are so far gone, Jeffrey. I used to feel like a babysitter and now I feel like a prison guard, or worse."
"You can't let them have the upper hand. That's letting them win."
"But I don't think we can live like this any more."
"Other countries have dealth with it for years. Terrorism, religious strife, civil wars - we're one of the last free nations in the world."
"We're not free any more," she said. She pried at a bullet hole in the chalkboard. "Not any more."
"It's only been six months, Nicole. We can work through it."
"But I don't want to work through it. We shouldn't have to. We shouldn't be here in the first place."
"I think you mean they. They shouldn't be here. They invaded."
"I'm talking about the children, Jeffrey, not the Muslims."
"The kids have always been this way."
"Oh? Have they really?"
"Yes. They've always been at each other's throats. But now there's no one to police them."

I'm too lazy (drunk between the lines) to read this right now and I think that every time I see a murder post of yours. I plan on reading them one day but have a plus 2 in the mean time because I appreciate your effort and persistance in the face of so many lazy asses like me.

1) auto +2 my name
2) This was probably the best written one to date. Cleared up things a bit as well.
3) Might I suggest posting these at a more high traffic time? I don't know what time it is where you are but I usually get discover these either later at night or on a Sunday.
