I find this topic's title to be consistent with my views as well.
Odds are I really only know 1 or 2 people at the wedding I've been invited to, and I dont even like them all that much. To many times have I seen that look in women's eyes at weddings, that envy when they look at the bride. It makes me sick. Marriage is for saps imo. Far to many times I've seen an all around good guy get married and then get took for everything he is worth when things go sour. I've seen it a few times happen to girls I know as well. Not as often but I've seen it from both camps. The only way I would ever get married is with an iron clad pre-nup. Trust is a weakness, to many people will exploit that weakness if you allow them to.
When I show up for a wedding and walk around hearing all the people talking about how cute the couple is, How cute so and so is in their tux / dress. It all makes my insatiable thirst for a strong scotch to hard to control. If I have to pay for that scotch at a sociable gathering I honestly didn't even want to attend in the first place, then damn it all.

I like weddings.
I like open bars and dancing.
I like avoiding the bad food most of them offer and therefore getting doubly hammered off the vast quantities of booze I ingest.
I like seeing people being happy, even if that happiness is fleeting and maybe based off of silly ideas and beliefs.
