I'd poke you on the inside! Also I'm sorry but most landscape shots; especially of mountains, are lost on me. I live in Jasper National Park in the Rockies so if I want to see mountains I look out my window and if I want to see a good picture of a mountain I could grab a half assed camera and go for a quick hike or bike ride and could find gorgeous mountain ranges and river valleys to shoot.

Very clever, pitting your colorful pictures (that have photoshop written all over them, btw) up against several black and whites.
I personally don't like to use software to enhance the colors, and as the picture of Chicago shows, it is very possible for a picture to be colorful all on its own.

With the exception of the New York one, little of the color is saturation/curves work. The way the color looks comes mainly from upping the contrast. Okay, driving the contrast through the roof.

My opinion:
To become anyone in photography, you have to have not only great connections with rich and influential people, but a unique way of seeing the world. Ansel Adams was unique in his time.
I have friends who think they're good photographers but are complete shit. They take something almost decent and slap gaudy colors and all sorts of crap on it in photoshop and call it art. They take pictures of incredibly boring/mediocre subjects like a sidewalk or something and just because it's high quality from the expensive cameras they bought, they think it's good.
Quality does not make a horrible picture worth looking at.

also, ansel adams' pictures of yosemite, while breathtaking, could be done today by taking a picture from inside the park (its next to impossible to get a bad shot there of most anything) and with a little photoshop (brightness/contrast for starts) could look just as foreboding or harsh
yosemite is beautiful and i recommend it to anyone who will be in that area

Unless you have the equipment, i.e. have spent 10's of thousands of dollars on the proper camera, lenses, color correction, exposure, etc. then you will never achieve what those well known photographers have.

That's simply not true. Some styles of photography requires expensive equipement, but it's possible to take amazing pictures with a 500$ camera. And yeah, I guess I love to hate you.

The filename didn't bother me, all that means is that you are admitted into the sicosemen legionnaires club because you love to hate me. Get in line, kid, so does the rest of uber with a few exceptions. This isn't anything new.
