Brad, I think it is time for you to face up to the possibilty that if it weren't for the CIA and the military industrial complex then it is very likely that the USA would probably be the one remaining capitalist and (mildly) democratic nation in a world under the control of Soviet communism. The iron curtain would be just outside Manhatten.
I'm not excusing espionage and subterfuge (that word had been on the tip of my tongue all week) or the atrocities it has instigated but the CIA has served its purpose well and has helped preserve more freedoms than it restricts.

What about that is reasonable?
I could get up in a court of law an "demonstrate" with a fabricated witness that I wasn't at the scene of some crime...does that mean that jury is compelled to accept this "demonstration"?
Or if I say "no I wasn't there", but yes that is my footprint at the scene. Is the jury supposed to accept this contradiction? Are they supposed to accept my nonexplanation of it?

Sure there have been many nasty things done "in the American people's name", but I refuse to believe that any less nasty has been done by other countries.
