Gone are the days when kids can look up to some athletes and say 'I want to be just like them'. I suppose it would be a ton easier now because all the fucking have to do i get sent to prison and they will get to meet their favorite star.
I know that is a bit of a gross exaggeration but the image I have below will show the state of the NFL and the crazy fucking niggers playing in it. Bear in mind that in addition to the ones listed below Michael Vick is in a ton of shit because of dog fighting at one of his homes. Proof positive that you can take a nigger out of the ghetto but you cant take the ghetto out of the nigger...

You're talking about athletes though. Babe Ruth was a womanizer and an alcoholic. It all depends where you want to set the bar.
Not to mention, should kids really be looking at professional athletes in the first place? I mean, they put a ball through a hoop, hit it with a stick, etc. Should that ability really be so prized?
I think part of the problem is that kids believe that hitting, kicking, bouncing a ball really is that big a deal.

These thugs piss me off. They should be held to a higher standard than the rest of us, not a lower standard, because the rest of us don't get paid hundreds of thousands, and in some cases millions, of dollars to play football for six months out of the year. That is a privilege that must be earned and appreciated. Too many of them, like Tank Johnson and Michael Vick, appear to take it for granted.
Michael Vick is a goddamned disgrace to the sport of football and I refuse to watch another Falcons game until his ass gets cut - and preferably thrown in prison and raped repeatedly. His professional career has been a series of subpar performances on the field and spectacular failures of judgment off the field. Smoking weed is no big deal to me, but trying to take it through security in the Miami airport is retarded. I could even overlook his failure to inform skanks of his herpes status - nobody's perfect, right? But involvment in dogfigthing officially puts him in the category of suhuman waste of oxygen. Frankly I hope he gets sucked into a combine harvester.

Gone are the days when athletes aren't microscopically bisected in the public eye which is my belief that there is an increasing number of these stories. No longer does a cop pull you over after you've had a few and say hey "OMG, let me have your autograph, Bart Starr" and follow you home.
Now, Police Officers don't get recognition unless they arrest a semi-star. I bet the next cop to arrest Adam "Pacman" Jones gets a promotion.

I am sorry but I feel this is total bullshit. Stars still get special treatment and for the amount of fucking money they are making why the fuck should they get away with DUIs or shit like that. The offences that all these stupid fuckers got arrested for usually gun/violence related as well. Just because you are a star football player doesn't mean that your bodyguard can shoot up a nightclub.
It all boils down to people not willing to change their lifestyle. Fucking pathetic if you ask me.
