Tabletop Joe, Tabletop Joe
everyone knows Tabletop Joe
well his mama didn't want him
on the day he was born
born without a body
he got nothing but scorn
but he always loved music
all he had was his hands
and he dreamed he'd be famous
and he'd work at the Sands
Tabletop Joe, Tabletop Joe
everyone knows Tabletop Joe
he had trouble with the pedals
but he had a strong left hand
and he could play Stravinsky
on a baby grand
Tabletop Joe, Tabletop Joe
everyone knows Tabletop Joe
Tom Waits - Table Top Joe
---
Tom Waits is one of the best Blues and Jazz artists of our time. Some like to describe his voice as "like it was soaked in a vat of bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months." He has been nominated for a number of major music awards, and has won Grammy Awards for two albums.
and he was in Mystery Men.

While I absolutely love Tom Waitts and find him to be one of the greatest singer-songwriters of all time, this post did not do him any justice. You also mistook the quote. It actually goes "..his voice sounds like its been soaked in a vat of bourbon, ran over by a truck, and left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months."
+1 Tom Waitts

..............................how could you confuse them?
and secondly, surely, at worst, Elliott Smith is catchy and inoffensive.

I think I've confused him somehow with Elliott Smith, whom I don't like, and thus ignored his music. Will get around to fixing that soon.

Yeah, I wish, Saccy, I wish.
Also what Scourge said. Though he can have the "biggest fan" thing if he wants.

I read all of Stagger_Lee's posts in Tom Waits's voice.

Good choice of subject.
Use more than one colon in the title and it reads like a Lifetime movie leader. "Torn: Not Without My Areolas: The Nancy Estrogena Story".
------
It's areolAE.

You are right. I stand corrected. I'm such a boob sometimes.

He was in a lot more, and better, movies than 'Mystery Men', you tool.
And to try and pigeonhole him as a Blues and Jazz musician makes me want to slap you.
As Uber's biggest Waits fan, I shoudl have done this to do it justice, and look what I have allowed to happen.

His composing work is ace as well.

Tom Waits could win any bar fight simply by alternatively growling and yelling at his opponent until they ran away.
He was also in Domino. Not a great movie, but a decent cameo.
Waits = auto +2

Ah well, simply cannot give the man less than +2.
