I am in desperate need of some new tunes. I like most music, other than rap, I find most of it incredibly unintelligent and boring. I have listened to some underground shit that I like but I can never remember what it is called. Some hip hop or rap or whatever the fuck you want to call it that I have enjoyed is Kaos and I heard some live shit from The Roots that I liked I think. Country is not music, so fuck off with that garbage.

I am a white boy who likes his metal hard and classic rock... classic?

I fucking hate bands like The White Stripes and any newer emo, angry, white, suburban kids who are angst ridden because they grew up in a loving home with two parents who didn't fight much. I want music that is intelligently written and sounds fucking sweet. I am huge on the music, more so than the lyrics. I dabble in bass guitar and love a band with some tight drum bass action. I am only 24 and love music from the 70s but neither of my parents were big into rock and I grew up in a rural area so everyone loved country so I don't know a lot of it.

This is what I have on my iPod right now, feel free to assault my music taste in any way you see fit, I am okay with it, I know what I like and music is probably the most personal preference that you can get.

Apocalyptica
Avenged Sevenfold (This band is a solid meh from me, I liked one of the songs on NHL 2007 so I bought the album...)
BTO
Beyond Fear
Big Wreck
Black Label Society
Black Sabbath
Bon Jovi
CCR
Dave Matthews Band
Deep Purple
Def Leppard
Deftones
Disturbed
The Doors
Dragonforce (DnD Powermetal ftw)
Dream Theater
Drowning Pool
Faith No More
Finger Eleven
Godsmack
Guns N' Roses
Heart
Him (This is about as Emo as I am prepared to get...)
Incubus
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
Korn
Led Zeppelin
Matthew Good Band
Metallica
Mudvayne
Muse
Ozzy Osbourne
Pantera
A Perfect Circle
Pennywise
Rage Against The Machine
The Rolling Stones
Scorpions
Sepultura
Sevendust
Slipknot
Spineshank
Steppenwolf
Sublime
Supertramp
System Of A Down
Tool
The Tragically Hip
Van Halen
Weezer

Hmmm, that is a short list, I own a ton more music than this. I have about 700CDs and a couple of hundred records at home. This is just the stuff I have managed to remember to put on my iPod. I am huge fan of classical and have TONS of it but it is not the kind of music I listen to at work, so I didn't put any of it here.

I am against downloading music illegally, so I am looking for albums to buy not songs that are good. This is not a cry for heat, there is some fucking awesome musicians on this site and some old motherfuckers who could tell me some quality older music. Thanks in advance to the 5 or 6 of you who will take this seriously and give me some decent music to listen to and to the people who creatively insult me.

this shit is for real please please please help me out here uber I NEED SOME PHAT NEW TUNEZ.JPG (14 kB)

Also, might I suggest some Electric Tooth Syndrome to add a little variety. http://www.electrictoothsyndrome.com/songs

Let's go Zambia, let's go.

Let's go Zambia, let's go.

Canadians are pathetically uncreative. There's an air of confusion surrounding the whole event. People cheer louder for the yellow cards than the incredible displays of skill on the ball.

We don't deserve such an event.

I am British, it is in my nature to not like the French...

That and I was forced to take French at school until Gr. 9, and I have enough trouble with English, you can't pile another language in there and expect me to enjoy it.

What is that link to, when I click it looks funny.

Rollins Band: Angry punk, avoid Henry Rollins movies, snap up his music
----------------
Also, his spoken word albums are HIGHLY reccommended. His rants will make you weep with joy. The Boxed Life, Rollins in the Wry and Think Tank are just a few in his live show discography. If you're literate? His books are great, but you need to be in a non-suicidal frame of mind as they get a little...um...dark.

As for music? Aside from what has already been named here, try The Trews. Band from Nova Scotia now based in Ontario. House of Ill Fame and Den of Thieves are the two albums that I know of.

No worries bro. You'll love em.

They have moved from Hard Rock to Blues/Rock with their last album.

The cool thing about that is, with 11 albums out there, there's the whole range of style to choose from these guys.

I'm liking the new blues but I prefer their older stuff.

Profits of Doom, The Mob Goes Wild, Green Buckets, and The Yeti are great examples of the best these guys have to offer.

I know you're not much for lyrics but I gotta say it is a real strong point with this band:

Profits Of Doom Lyrics
Artist(Band):Clutch

Born with a moustache and a supernova, tossed off the cliffs of Dover.
Washed up on a far away shore in the arms of the daughter of the Buffalo.
Mamma said he was the chosen one. Reverend said he was the other one.
All that pay no mind inside his Econoline.

Swallower of Planets, the profits of doom.
Quarterly projections, the profits of doom.

A caliph, rabbi, and a bishop walk into a bar.
One says to the other,
"Hey now brother, we haven't gotten very far."

Who's that writing? John the Revelator.
He wrote the Book of the 7th Seal.

Swallower of Planets, the profits of doom.
Quarterly projections, the profits of doom.

Genesis and Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers,
Gideon is knocking in your hotel while you slumber.

Swallower of Planets, the profits of doom.

Never trust the white man driving the black van
He's just saving all his voodoo for you.
Just for you.

Never trust the white man driving the black van
He's just saving all his voodoo for you.
Just for you.

I have a stack of cd's sitting next to me (just opened my BMG box replacing worn out and unplayable cd's)

Corrosion of Conformity "Deliverance"
Type O Negative "Bloody Kisses" and "October Rust"
Bloodhound Gang "Hooray for Boobies"
White Zombie "La Sexorsito: Devil Music Vol.1"
Faith No More "The Real Thing"
Rollins Band "End of Silence"

Oddly enough I really enjoyed Stone Sour's "Come Whatever May"

Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Mogwai

There's a band called 'Bis' who aren't bad for a laugh either. Get 'Intendo' if you can find it.

There's bunch of great soundtracks out there for mixing it up a bit too:

House of 1000 Corpses
Shaun of the Dead
The Proposition
Party Monster (film, not series)
Lost Highway

Other great mix albums are the FabricLive series. I think they're up to like 30 or something now.

John Peel (number 7)
