Boblobla's Good Ole Southern Apple Butter BBQ Pulled Pork

Note: Some of the measurements are guesstimates, but come on, its not like the rednecks who first made this had measuring spoons or anything fancy like that.

Feeds: 4-5 People

Required Equipment:

Slow Cooker
Wifebeater (must have at least 3 sauce stains)
Ripped jeans/cutoff shorts depending on the weather.
Fewer than the average number of teef
8 hours to kill

Ingredients:

1kgish Chunk O Pork - I can't remember the cut, it is just a big piece of pork I use, any will do.
1 Can of Cola (355mL) - I use coke but feel free to experiment with whatever you want.
300-500 mL of Apple Juice - The better quality the juice the better it tastes so get off you wallet. The reason for the range depends on the size of your slow cooker, explained in the directions below...
5tbspish Honey
Seasoning Salt or regualar salt of you are poor and only have the one kind...
5 cloves of garlic
300mL of Hickory Smoke flavored BBQ Sauce
Liquid Smoke Flavoring - OPTIONAL, I love the taste of this stuff and I haven't found a BBQ sauce that makes the food taste smokey enough for me.
Cayenne Pepper - OPTIONAL, for people who are not sissies...
Butter - Not sure how much I use, it is for flavoring only.
Crusty Buns
Papertowel
Napkins cause this shit is JUICY

How to DEWIT

-Mix cola, apple juice( 300mL)add more if required to cover pork in a few steps, honey, bbq sauce, garlic, butter, cayenne and any other ingredients I listed above other than the pork in the slow cooker

-Add pork

-Run and grab papertowel cursing Boblobla because you have a gay little slow cooker that is too small for all this shit and it ran all over your kitchen floor

-The saucey mixture should just about cover the top of the pork, yes I know it floats, just add enough apple juice so it is barely floating dumbshit.

-Cover and cook on low heat for 5-7 hours, rotating occasionally because as we discussed earlier, the pork floats... 5 hours if you have 2 or 3 smaller chuncks O pork and 7 if you have one chunck.

-Remove pork from slow cooker, the pork is delicious at this point but it is going to get better RESIST THE TEMPTATION TO EAT NOW, YOU WILL REGRET IT.

-Strain sauce into a big enough pot, begin to reduce the sauce in high heat on the stove. Do what you want with the soggy garlic, I throw it away, it has served its purpose...
Reduce: Boil the fuck out of it to make it a thick more concentrated version of the original.

-Pull your meat, I use two forks. The pork should just want to fall apart, separate it into small string pieces.

-Taste the sauce with a spoon or something, Pick up the spoon off the floor, put an ice cube in your mouth. IT IS FUCKING BOILING DUMBASS, BLOW ON IT FIRST, DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU EVERYTHING??

Note: This stage is very personal, once the sauce is nice and thick it is really up to you if you feel you want to add anything. Not salty enough? Add salt. Not sweet enough? Add honey. Not hot enough? Blow on it less, HA, add cayenne. You get, I trust you.

-You want the sauce to have been at least reduced by 1/2 so it is nice and thick, once it is at that stage add the meat you pulled back to the pot o sauce. Cover and simmer for 20 - 30 mins.

-Slice buns and serve. If you have done anything right you should not only be full but you should have a few more stains on the ole wifebeater.

i actually let it get kinda cold. i get a spoonful and just put it down and let it sit for a min while i keep stirring with another utensil or something.
