I took her advice and went down to the water tonight.
I look out across the bay and see the West End.
Pink.
Green - the color as glass would have it.
I realize how far it would be to swim.
I sip my beer.
There's a connection I share with those around me - we all look out at the same images.
And we think how far it is to swim.
I take another sip of my beer.
She's a little wave out in the ocean.
She's growing stronger every day.
I'm just sitting here watching the day disappear,
but she's growing, gaining on me.
I can feel her out there.
I look down at the seawall.
A giant wave crashes - spilling out over everything it can in celebration.
Its journey is done.
It's home now.
From way out there where the sun disappears - she came.
To crash here.
On these rocks at my feet.
Then I realise I took her advice and went down to the water tonight.
