This is a Black Bear cub outside my in-laws cabin in Estes Park, CO. In the 40+ years they have been going, they have seen many deer, elk and other wildlife but this is only the 4th time they have seen a bear.
My wife and I are planning to go to the cabin this weekend, and I am somewhat excited at the chances of seeing the cub but also worried about its mother showing up as well.

he's cute! we have them in northern wisconsin. There's been one hanging round my grandmothers house but in the thirty years I've been going up there I've only seen one. the one that my uncle hit with his car at 70 mph. it was well over 500 lbs and when my uncle hit the head of the bear it spun and rolled the length of the car totalling the car. the bear is now a rather large rug.

If you see the cub, be sure to pick it up and cuddle it. Mama bears love when you do that.

My aunt and uncle live in Black Forest, CO...they also have only ever seen a bear about two or three times in the many years they've lived there. Good memories.

I've only ever seen a bear once. I was in Shennadoah Valley and I saw a momma with her two cubs. It was so cool.
If the momma comes around, just make sure y'all have one of those gun lamps like John Candy did in The Great Outdoors.

It's trying to hump your tree.
Looks cute, it is such a bugger that things that look so nice have the potential to be so harmful, like women for example.
