I wonder if God cares for the Black Man's Burden
Like prayers and silent wishes upon petals
or stars
And if He does care
For the syncopated reading style
(For He must be accustomed to it by now)
Does He bore of the confused,
Distracted,
Repetition
Of paragraphs like rehearsed whispers
Of rosary beads and books of doctrine
Spelling Bees
And language conjugations
Fluttering about the airwaves?

You should take out the part about "Black Man's Burden."
That reference is too particular to fit in with the rest of the poem.
Poetry tends not to do well on here, unless you've proven yourself... and even then we usually tear it apart.

Just for clarification, I wrote this while I was reading <I>The Black Man's Burden</I> for a class. If you're rating the poem, sure give me shitty ratings if you hate it. But if you're rating my reading material, -2 my professor, kids. :) Thanks for the feedback though.

Interesting how the spooks, chinks, spics, waps, micks and hell even the queers all get their heritage days, culture days, and labels. Yet if a white man dared to try and have a "White Pride" day of any sort. He is instantly labeled as a racist.
