Miles and miles roll slick under tires,
95 on the interstate, rolling straight through the sunset
to kick back on beaches, times passed plentiful
day-dreaming of the night-life, swinging from bar to bar
is there nothing left sacred in this world unturned?
world travelers renound,
well versed, well acclimated
we've done it all before
follow the paths that lie before,
transient tanks of gasoline
give rise to miles and miles
tires churning and burning up pavement
putting them all behind, pushing forward

well off the beaten path,
back roads need no reservations
no traffic slowing destinations
we have none
Its never rush hour on this road,
40 over and out,
pedal to the metal means time well spent

NEVER a poetry fan this was ok but the word you were looking for i think was renowned - that jarred me each time i saw it. may have only been twice but whatever.
