Welcome to Round 1 of Uber-Go-Round (U-G-R)©™. The randomly drawn genre of the round is Action/Adventure, strangely enough that's what last years was too. You will find your assigned titles below. Please be sure to include UGR in the title of your post and link it here to make it easier to locate. Round one entry DEADLINE is 12:01 A.M. CST Thursday August 23rd. I will "close" "voting" on Monday August 27 and post Round 2 match ups and titties then.
With 31 entrants I have decided to have the odd man out, Fey you were randomly selected for this honor, receive a round one bye. To avoid byes after that I will award one FREE LIFE to the highest rated loser of round 1 to bring them back into the competition after which all subsequent rounds will be one v one write offs. There will be a total of five rounds.
A word on ratings for the comp. First, I am not opposed to competitors rating each other's posts as long as it is done fairly and with good will. If you are going to rate your competition please , especially if you're going negative, take the time to explain your rating or else just wait until the round is over. Second, ratings will stand, if you have someone who hates you and they rate your post with 362 alters, well, that sucks but we're going straight up highest rating wins the round. In the event of tied ratings the post with the highest number of ratings will win. In the event that there should be another tie number of hits will be the tie breaker.
Summary of rules:
1. Create a post in the genre specified (Round one: Action/Adventure) using the title assigned to your match up.
2. Winner will be highest rated poster of each match up. Standard tie breakers apply
3. A Free Life will be awarded to the highest rated loser of round one.
4. All match ups will be randomly paired. I put all of your names in my shorts and drew the pairings from them.
5. All titles will be randomly selected and assigned. Titles too.
6. The "genre" for each round will be randomly selected.
7. all rules are subject to change but rarely do, having done this a few times now it seems as though things usually work pretty smoothly this way. If something is unclear please let me know.
8. forfeits suck. Please try not to do it.

the way i make them is 2 parts white liquors to 1 part sec, 2 parts sour, and a splash of coke. When it actually looks like an iced tea is when you've added enough coke. they taste great to me, but then I'm a raging alcoholic... i'd say experiment with just one drink until you've gotten what you like.

It was kind of a test run.
We wanted to see how well the stuff would stay mixed in the cooler. It was one of those Gatorade coolers with a spout dispenser at the bottom. Mid-grade Vodka & Peach Schapps mixed with Cranberry juice, Orange juice, and Ginger Ale - it was still $30 worth of liquids 'cause it was a lil' over 2 gallons. We simply shook the cooler ever 1/2 hour to keep it mixed. Like I said - A test run...
'Cause we wanna have a TEA PARTY!
A Long Island Iced Tea Party.
Here's the current run down - - -
1 liter of 40p cheap Gin (cause it all taste like pine needles)
1 liter of 70p cranberry Burnette's cranberry Vodka (only $8 around here)
1 liter of 80p Bacardi white Rum (although we may go stronger)
1 liter of 80p Jose Cuervo Tequila (because it's smooth)
1 liter of 30p Dekruper's Triper Sec (to add flavour)
1.9 liter of Daily's Sour Mix (the only sours worth mentioning)
2 liter of Coca-Cola (nothing else would tatste right here)
Altogether, at the liter = gallon ratio, that's about 3 gallons of liquid. And since it will far more potent, we'll be serving it in far smaller plastic cups with a cooler full of ice beside. The SexOnTheBeach worked out well enough, but we killed 2 gallons pretty quick between the 5 of us. Only one of the girls were really hammered. The 3 os us guys and The Girl had to switch out to cheap beer to finish our treatment...

So for, um, those of us who may have not written their posts yet - is the genre thing being ditched or are we supposed to man up and actually make an effort to write within the confines of a particular style and maybe have some fun with it?
I need to know because it'll dictate whether or not I phone in a post or try to tailor something (undoubtedly lame) to meet the needs of the assignment.

In the past I've been more uptight about running one of these discarding titles I didn't think were good, worrying about the bs uber drive by ratings etc. this time I'm just letting it go to run wild so yeah, some of the titles suck and I'm sure there will be some tomfoolery but whatever. It's a Silverstein poem, also, I could write a crazy adventure story about a nose garden.
Like, ok, there's this germ right, and he's been living in the back of this guy's throat his whole life fighting all kinds of crazy germ battles. Then, the guy laughs some kind of liquid out of his nose, and the germ discovers...NOSE GARDEN.
Also, he discovers a way to travel to the nose garden, and he loves it there, but one day bacteria from the land of ______ comes to the nose garden to mine the mucusy goodness, and there is a tragic ending where he stands up for the rights of the nose garden, but dies in a crazy battle or (for you hippies that want a slightly happier ending) gets sneezed onto a sandwich.
Then, the guy eats the sandwich, and our germ protagonist goes to the rectum, sees how bad the inhabitants have it there, and decides to spread the good word of nose garden. See, slightly happier.
Ok, ok...that's a horrible idea.
