First let me tell you this story is completely true. No part of it has been fabricated.

I have small hands. Pretty small, almost girly hands, for a guy my age. (I was nineteen. I still have small hands.) And those hands have been the cause of all this madness. This is their story.

I was sipping lemonade with a friend at this coffee place near college, while all of a sudden this guy shows up. Turns out he's my friend's buddy. So my friend introduces us, we exchange a sentence or two, and the popup guy is gone. I forget about him. Then I meet the popup lad again, a few days later. He switched groups and so now we started listening to some of our lectures together. Long story short - we became friends. Now comes the slightly weird part.

He was always friendly, with a lot of people. He hugged me a lot. I knew he was bisexual, or at least that was what he told me. One thing he did many a time was telling me he loved me. And then asking me if I loved him. I chuckled every time, and said nothing. We spent so much time together each day that people started thinking we were together. You could say he "looked gay". One day he asked me to go out drinking with him and some of his friends. I didn't really go out much, and never liked it. Nonetheless, I accepted the offer. I was in a gay club before I knew what hit me. There were a lot of straight gals there, though. Almost suspiciously too many. Go figure. I drank too much and almost got dragged into what was called "the black room" by this big old fat guy. We left and continued drinking in the park nearby.

Now comes the handy part. Be not afraid, my friends.

I was too drunk to be quite aware what was going on. My friend took my hand and said, "Let me see something." Then both he and this other guy were staring at my fingers and saying, "Yeah, he could do it." I thought none of it - I had one too many gin tonics.

As the night grew cold, our little group parted ways. I own my own flat, and the not-so-drunk buddy of mine, always trying to be helpful as he was, insisted on walking my clumsy drunken carcass back home. The walk sobered me up a bit. I collapsed onto my bed, happy with the thought of having a good fourteen hours worth of sleep. Then a hand hugged me from behind.

"You know I love you."

... A good three, four seconds pass slowly.

"I know", I said.

"I want to tell you something I've never told anyone", he spoke.

I lay silent.

He continued, "I've been with some guys... you know that... but I've never done this one thing, and I really want to do it." After seeing I wasn't saying anything, he paused. Then he almost whispered into my ear, "I want to try fisting." Jesus Christ! Needless to say, I was a bit upset. I never had problems with him liking guys, but this was getting mighty suspicious. I found myself almost trembling. "Well, then go and find someone to... fist you. What the hell do I care?"

"I don't want just anybody to do it... I want you to do it."

By ye Gods. A memory of him inspecting my hand in front of our friends, like it was made of fucking gold, popped into my head. I panicked. "Listen, I told you way back how things were. I don't want this. Go to sleep already." There was a ten-second pause while my heart went on beating like a war drum on speed or something. A thought of rape popped into my mind. No, he wasn't capable of anything like that, the good-natured nancy that he was. He broke the silence, whispering, "Please? I love you... please?" His fingers kept moving along my arm, stroking it like it was some kind of homo cat. This was getting fucking annoying. Maybe if his bent up homo mind was thinking straight (pun intended) he would've understood what the word -NO- meant. So I fistfucked his hairy ass like crazy and drank his sweet manjuice potion, just to shut his gay mouth and get some sleep already.

Yeah the censor board really chaps my ass. Dude, you're talking to an indian born who has read more books than he cares to count on the matter. Google-ing indian politics won't give you a proper stance. I don't mean to be rude or anything, I'm just encouraging you to learn more on the subject.

Gandhi did a lot of good I'll admit. I guess I'm just bitter.

the real one or the ones who took his name in an attempt to seem less of a god-awful politician? (btw: also indian-born).

off-topic: TIME praised the new female president Prathiba Patil, forgetting how corrupt she was.

how did this thread go from gay to somewhat rational discussions of indian history?

You didn't lose your wrist watch?????

I don't wear one. I have one of those fancy cellphones that can open and close and make sound while doing so. (They appear to be cool.) Besides, I'd never stick a wrist-watched hand into someone's manhole. I think that'd hurt. (Not the good kind of pain.)

Indo this debate we're having is quite a common one in India. You raise interesting points as well. There was an autobiographical movie released called The Legend of Bhagat Singh, starring Ajay Devgun. It was sponsored by the government of India, and shown free in some states to promote the history of Singh.

I suggest you check it out, it's pretty good. It's Bollywood, but a very moving film. Even though Gandhi is not shown in a good light in the movie, the government still approved it. There have been movies in the past totally banned because they badmouth Gandhi, this was the first time the gov't actually admitted the infallible Gandhi had some flaws.

Bollywood movies hurt my soul.

in a country where bad mouthing a former leader can get a movie banned it is easy to see the appeal of bashing him, but in reality he did do a lot of good and people like Singh would never been able to unite the country like he did (other wise it would have been singh making the treaty witht he english).

That is a link for the quote in the comment below.

You may believe religion causes problems, you may have a point, but the fact is that athiesm was incredably unpopular among the masses in India and he would never been a popular leader among the masses because of it.

"As I listened to Mr. Gandhi putting the case for commutation before me, I reflected first on what significance it surely was that the apostle of non-violence should so earnestly be pleading the cause of the devotees of a creed so fundamentally opposed to his own, but I should regard it as wholly wrong to allow my judgment to be influenced by purely political considerations. I could not imagine a case in which under the law, penalty had been more directly deserved."

That was from the Viceroy.

Ghandi DID try and keep Singh alive.

You don't seem to know a lot about this, other than thinking Singh violent communist leanings woudl somehow fixed all of India's problems.

hold on, see, he wasn't a murderer. Freedom fighter. It's perspective. People are force-fed Bhagat Singh was a terrorist and a murderer because Congress wanted Gandhi to be their poster boy. Congress got all the power in the end. Gandhi had enough pull to save Singh's life.

Yeah I realize the troubles of the USSR but choosing a political system doesn't mean we're going to live their history. Every system has its problems I realize, but democracy has no place in India. What I mean to say is that socialist India wouldn't have had a partition, there wouldn't be communal riots, and we wouldn't have the Kashmir conflict. Hindus and Muslims would co-exist. It's partition that fucked everything up.

You have to live there to know what I'm talking about. It seems like a flimsy argument, but honestly, you have no idea until you see what goes on in the country.

If Singh was saved, he would have lead the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association to power. He had that much influence over the country. Sure, he was turning people towards militancy, but so what? It was an underground resistance.

Basically Indo, my biggest peeve is how people think "Oh wow, Indians protested and resisted with non-violence and gained independence". This is total bullshit, and I hate how Gandhi gets all the credit.
-----------------------

Freedom fighter? He shot a man, Saunders, in cold blood. He didn't shoot him to save someones life, to make a statment, or to avenge an attack. He shot the wrong guy for crying out loud. He was a fucking clown who couldn't even shoot the right guy.

Ghandi was against the partition, and while he doesn't deserve all the credit he deserves far more then some half assed "revolutionary" who couldn't ewven kill the right guy. Even if his life was spared he wouldn't have risen to a position to run the country because he wasn't that popular. At best he would have caused more unrest and violent riots, but he never would have unified the country. A self admitted athiest would never appeal tot he common man in a religious country.

Why am I such a persistent prick/biased on this subject? Several of my relatives were in the resistance. They were jailed, beaten, tortured, and killed for fighting. They told me the fear the British had of the HSRA, and how Gandhi could have given us millions of men in support, but didn't.

I'm expecting you to say "well you're condoning terrorism". That brings us back to perspective. Freedom fighter or terrorist?

Ninja I know Gandhi didn't want to separate, but he pretty much was responsible for it by backing congress and not backing Singh.

I'll explain caste system here: It determines everything. Coming from a high class family, not only is wealth a birthright, but so is privilege. I can get virtually anything done in a week that might take 4-6 months for the average Joe, or shall I say the average Sunjay. It's absolutely retarded.

Socialism would have broken down these barriers. I realize India would have become the next USSR, but honestly, I think that's what we need. Considering most of the country is poor and a handful of rich guys control it. It's got all the characteristics of a socialist revolution just waiting to happen. I'll be honest, I'm impressed it hasn't.

What it boils down to at the end of the day is autocracy vs. democracy. I believe in India, autocracy would be beneficial for a brief period to relieve the social inequality. Pretty much a French revolution is in order, minus all the French-ness. I guess that means I'll get beheaded if I went back and my land would be seized. Ah well.
------------------

So because he didn't try and get a murderer pardonned he was rtesponsible for partitioning? that makes no sense.

just because many are poor and few are rich doesn't mean that a revolution will help the poor. you toss out becoming like the USSR pretty non-chalantly. Do you realize the suffereing that has gone on in that country? Do you know what the purges did? As far as helping to end the caste system or ending religious strife I suggest you look to haw jews faired in communist russia before you make any assumptions about what good would come out of socialism.

All this talk about Gandhi being able to save Singh's life - but doing nothing - appears to be a conspiracy theory. Some seem to say Gandhi did not have that much power. And Bhagat was a murderer. Still, he shouldn't have been hanged.

"[The demand for Pakistan] as put forth by the Moslem League is un-Islamic and I have not hesitated to call it sinful. Islam stands for unity and the brotherhood of mankind, not for disrupting the oneness of the human family. Therefore, those who want to divide India into possibly warring groups are enemies alike of India and Islam. They may cut me into pieces but they cannot make me subscribe to something which I consider to be wrong [...] we must not cease to aspire, in spite of [the] wild talk, to befriend all Moslems and hold them fast as prisoners of our love."

Ghandi didn't want to seperate people based on religion.

And I fail to see how the caste system would have been destroyed by socialism. Bhagat Singh, if given power in india, would have turned it into something like Cuba or Russia, hardly ideal bastions of unity.

India would have been better off as socialist, because now there is so much hatred between Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians. Why do you think there are so many riots? Segregation is something that Gandhi and Congress caused, look what it is doing to the country. Singh wanted integration of the people, not segregation.

------------------------

Because no country that has called themselves "socialist" has any hatred between different groups.
----

Haha indo I know what you're saying. But you have to understand the culture of India. Separating the country based on religion was a HORRIBLE idea. Singh's socialist state would have united us and reduced the bullshit that is going on now. The thing is, the socalist party at that time was composed of all religions and castes. It's important to know that caste system determines everything. Socialism would have drastically reduced that importance.

Look up "Bhagat Singh" on google. The true liberator of India, and what his goals were for the country.

Also look up how Gandhi could have saved his life, yet he didnt.

It's funny, because Singh was going to lead india into socialism (something that is DEFINITELY needed to battle the caste system and corruption). Yet, Gandhi did nothing about it and flexed his muscle on the country, which by the way went to hell because of partition. Don't even get me started on what happened during partition, but the pain from that still lingers today (i.e. the Kashmir dispute)

Basically, Gandhi was a puppet, and someone should have shot him sooner. We didn't get independence through peaceful means, Bhagat Singh fought for the country, but his name isn't in the history books because the british branded him as a 'terrorist'.

Terrorist for some, freedom fighter for others.

_____________

Do your research you dumb motherfucker.

Ghandi stood up for Singh, even though Singh advocate the use of violence.

You talk about the pain still lingering today ? Do you think India would have prefered the British Empire?

-----------------

Gandhi could have saved him, he did not stand up for him by any means. He didn't like Singh's methods.

Pain lingers today, yes. If you've ever even stepped foot in India you would know this.

There have been holocausts in India that people don't even know about because frankly, nobody really gives a damn and half of them have been government sponsored (look up 1984, or msulim-hindu riots). All that gets done is more terrorists are created.

Look at the Kashmir conflict. Kashmir was called heaven on earth by tourists who fell in love with the place. Now radicals are blowing up schoolchildren.

Perhaps drinking manjuice potion is acceptable by Ubersite standards. I don't see why it wouldn't be. Nothing better than a gulp or two of that sweet ol' potion, yesireebob.

So... You deny being gay, yet you fist-fuck a dude?

I've no idea where you pulled that one from. Nowhere did I deny being gay. I prefer to think of myself as open-minded, as corny as it may sound. I've been attracted to both sexes.

And I regret letting my small hands take over. I lost a great friend because of them, as it later turned out.
