My name is James Henton. I do not have an easy job.
1973, I was in some small village in Vietnam. We had taken the area, and it was supposed to be secured. I was with them as they were sweeping the area for mines, and I was taking pictures, as I was supposed to do. Mark's metal detector made a strange noise, and I took a picture of him looking down to see what it was. What he saw was a kid pulling the trigger. I blinked and his head was gone.
Everybody dropped. I was lying two feet away from where Mark's head should have been. I ate what could have been described as breakfast with him a few hours before. I saw pictures of his wife and kids. I saw the grenade still hanging on his belt. I saw the hole the kid was in.
I've been to riots, warzones, trials, concerts, jungles, negotiations, assasinations, and just about every other major event or place known to mankind. My job has never been boring. I've seen and done things most people have only read about, because I was the guy behind the camera in the pictures.
What they don't tell you is that photographic life is impossible. I have to live with the fact that I watched friends die, and the only thing I did was to help was to take the before and after picture. I have to live with the fact that I'm allowed to take pictures of starving children in Africa, but I'm not allowed to give them any food. I have to live with what happens after the flash.

Yeah, you could have done more with the story. Fleshed it out a bit, ya know?

I find myself often wondering if I would have masturbated to lion-o's sweet studly sexiness If I had been a teenager at the time of Thundercat mania.
Having a few male friends, I have asked them if they had similar thoughts about April O'Neil or Jessica Rabbit or Cheetara, but they always evade the question and/or laugh as if I were silly to ask it.
