Yes, I'm serious. It's mostly a strong love for Bob Odenkirk, he's my favorite writer. Yes, I have a favorite comedy writer.
It's a big reason why I would watch Tom Goes To The Mayor, Bob helped write it and would do cameos.

lish, how long ago was that? YO came out on VHS here in 1996. the dvd was pretty recent though.
I used to work at a place that had a video conversion service. I have about a million PAL videos. It was very cool to be able to watch them again. It costs around $20 per hr. of tape for conversions and I got about $2000 worth done for free. Then I quit. Good times.

HA this reminds me- a friend of mine went to UK in college, a couple of years before TYO were on DVD here in the states (we had no idea it was in the works at the time), and there was no way we knew of to get them (and it was long before bittorrent or anything.) He saw them on VHS in London, and wasn't aware there were different region codes, etc..so he bought the series only to bring it home and find he couldn't play it. He ended up having to rent a VCR to convert it to play on his US player. He spent hours dubbing tapes for us. We were SO happy to finally have the series. We laugh now at how easy it is to get virtually anything today, when he worked so hard to get us those tapes.

no, it's actually quite cool. I work in a giant loft with murals on the walls and high ceilings and there's a video game room and a courtyard and a fountain and all manner of amenities. I work with Flash all day and can go on here whenever I feel like it and post gifs of Vyvyan. pretty sweet.

That may be so, but I grew up without cable or satellite TV. Didn't even get MTV out in the sticks where I lived. Had to go to a friend's house in town to watch anything other than CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, or PBS...it was a glorious day when I started college and had cable in the dorms.

I do. Mike wasn't even cast until the last minute, I think. He was supposed to have been played by Ben Elton who cowrote the series, or Peter Richardson, who was working with Nigel Planer (Neil) at the time on the comedy circuit.
