Hello Ubersite. This is a small project I've been working on during my vacation, cross between a detailed ETS-style futuristic rant of how to overthrow the government, and a histoy book written a hundred and forty years from now. Read it if you can, the information may come in use one day.
In the last century Russia was the enemy, and in this one, nothing changes. Every empire has to fall...America is no different.

Chapter One: The Rise of the Universalitioshka Party under Alexei Petrokov
It is said that history repeats itself twice, first as a tragedy, and second as a farce. Such a thing happened in contrast with the violent upheavals of the French Revolution, and the inept coup of Napoleon III three generations later. Many empires and leaders of men have risen and fallen with their charisma and almost god-like support from the people. But a historical truth is that all empires are the cause of their own eventual destruction.
Communism rose under Lenin, Stalin and Trotsky, and fell under Gorbachev, Reagan, and Saint John Paul. Persia rose under Cyrus and Darius, and fell under Alexander. Rome rose under Caesar and Augustus, and fell with Odacer and the impotent senate.
In this line of conquest and defeat, Universality rose under the man whose name we still dare not speak, and fell under the combined free people of the United States, China, and Canada.
At the beginning of the 21st century, amazing inventions like internet, iPods, and mass media gave the promise of a bright, beautiful future. The promises of the future were not kept. They were all swallowed up by the doctrine of Universality, and by a man whose name men now fear to speak. Though the men and women who knew him personally are now in their nineties and hundreds, and their numbers few over the world, the name Alexei still conjures up images of fear in every Western heart today.
Alexei Vladmirovich Petrokov was born in Volgograd on October 24th, 1989, just as the massive empires sustained by the old communist Warsaw Pact were falling. He would never remember the age of communism, as of January 1st, 1992, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics was dissolved, and its empire broken apart.
Alexei's parents were white-collar workers in a Volgograd law firm; his upbringing was by no means poor, and it is known that his parents had a reasonably good relationship for the time in which they lived. However, from testimony of the few people who knew him at the time, and Alexei's own memoirs, it is implied that his parents were highly perfectionist. Being lawyers, his parents pushed him into a rigorous private academy with the goal of becoming a lawyer also.
Alexei graduated high school in 2008, in a time where people were nostalgic for the old Soviet Russia. Memories of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1947) abounded in Volgograd, where the Russian army had made a brave final last stand against the forces of fascism and Nazism, at that time the most mortal battle in history, with three million dead. Under the reign of Premier Vladimir Putin, whose administration was becoming more and more authoritarian, the Spetsnaz was stronger than ever, and the freedom of the common man began to be forgotten as Putin used the terrorist attacks at Beslan (2004) and Astrakhan (2010) to justify more nationalistic and oppressive policies.
Alexei attended Voronezh University, where he graduated with a weighted 7.0 average in May of 2012. His parents pushed him to take on extra classes for top grades; he was an amazing student, professors would later recall, with a natural affinity for leadership and building connections. He majored in pre-law, with the intention of getting a law degree at Oxford. However, setbacks in the family, including a discovery of Alexei's diabetes, prevented him from attending Oxford; instead, he went to graduate school in Voronezh.
On the outside, Alexei was a brave, outgoing young man with a natural interest in politics and human rights. On the inside, he had few true friends, and when he was not attending anti-Federalist political rallies and publishing controversy on local newspapers, he was alone in his room, endlessly reading the internet. He was a noted member of several underground websites in his youth, most notably 55channel, a radical political site. His postings would later be removed by the Black Eagles, to prevent misuse of his youthfully exuberant quotes.
With a collection of young men and women in Volgograd and Voronezh, he began to formulate his guiding philosophy that would drive his armies to the four corners of the world. As Alexei himself said, Universality was summed up in the following: "All men and women should be equal. EveryoneCatholics, orthodox, Jew and Muslim. It would be my idea of a paradise united under one benevolent leader, where everyone is equal, where everyone's skin color is a light brown, where everyone prays to the universe." Though the final phrase was misused by Alexei's critics, Universality became the new name of this philosophy. It was a belief that one day people would see themselves as citizens of earth, not citizens of a nation, and that all oppressive religion would be muted or destroyed.
It started as a political club in Volgograd which expanded rapidly. Alexei was the leader, and he gathered several close followers to his side, both men and women, to help promulgate the theory. Alexei lost his virginity to a young woman Karina Nicolaevna Bartok around this time; she would be his only true friend, and the lasting love of his life. He gained support among the local newspapers and television stations, and even Western countries like France, the United States, and Canada bean to notice this new rabble-rouser. They praised him, as Putin's regime was no longer a western-friendly state. For the first time, Alexei's parents were proud of him.
Putin was bound to notice eventually. The community suggesting that Alexei should run for office was a danger to his authoritarian nationalism. Restrictions on Universalitynow known as the Universalitioshka Partycame down in Volgograd, and the populace didn't like it. With a majority of the people of the Caucasus region supporting Alexei Petrokov, people began to riot. Conservatives liked his return to old Russia's power, and liberals appreciated his youth and dedication to equality. In the first universality riots of the summer of 2016, Alexei's parents were killed by a car bomb in the city center of Volgograd.
Alex was devastated, but only more focused toward his goal. The perfectionism, respect for humanity, and love of learning his parents fostered in him only made his speeches more impassioned, his love of freedom more intense. In the fall of 2016, the Universality Party started its first military unit, called the Svoboda (or, "Freedom") Brigade.
This was not taken lightly by Vladimir Putin, and hired Spetsnaz killers were dispatched to remove Alexei from the scene. Thankfully, Alexei's friends and spies warned him, and like Mohammed's escape from Mecca to Medina, Alexei had to flee Voronezh to his supporters in Volgograd on Christmas Eve, 2016.
By January 2017, the city of Volgograd and its surrounding suburbs was in a full state of rebellion against the Russian Federation. The city of Saratov contributed soldiers, and Alexei, his lover Karina Bartok, and a close friend, Pyotr Ilyanich, were the chief commanders of the two motorized infantry divisions.
In April 2017, the first armed clashes began between Alexei's men and elements of Vladimir Putin's 58th Army. Though their numbers were far superior to the Universality Party, they suffered attacks from civilians as they marched through toward Volgograd. In the suburbs, Alexei led his troops personally in urban combat, beating back the Russians.
The summer brought on more support for Alexei, and his influence extended westward to Rostov, cutting off the 58th Army and elements of the 22nd Army. Now Putin was furious, and sent brigades of Spetsnaz and motorized infantry elements to wipe out the Universality Party. When the Russian Federals closed into the city too far, Alexei's men dispersed.
Though Vladimir Putin's forces battled viciously against Alexei and the Universalites through the summer, their hearts weren't fully in it. The brutal nationalism of Putin had turned world opinion against him, and by the fall, Alexei was using heavy armor and artillery in the fight against the Russian Federals. It was less of a civil war now, and more of a mass revolution. The countryside of southern Russia rose up, and even Ukraine enthusiastically sent two divisions of troops to Alexei's command.
At this time, Alexei was at the head of the state he was know calling the New Russian Empire, and his reforms of the government brought wide prosperity to Southern Russia. It was not a democratic governmentit was a meritocracy, with the bravest, most intelligent, and most hard-working men chosen from all levels of society. It seemed as if everyone knew a friend or relative who worked in government. The trains ran on time, and the water flowed in the taps, and a wave of equality among religion that was never before seen swept through Russia.
Alexei, as well as Bartok and Ilyanich, were the top three leaders of the new government. Zembla, Zukhov, Lena, Madjanec, Khobar, Selim, and Rodrinov were other generals, heads of state, and heads of intelligence in the new government; Madjanec and Selim would both die in the oncoming war for the hearts, minds, and lands of Russia.
With a battle-hardened army of up to fifty thousand men, Alexei led his forces to Voronezh, where he consolidated his rule and captured the city. By next year, the 58th Army would be enveloped and destroyed in the Caucasus. The prisoners would be indoctrinated into Universality. Vladimir Putin called distant armies out of Siberia, and sent his scant home forces toward Alexei with all his might, but it had been long since Russian armies could destroy rebels.
President Johnston of the United States, as well as other world leaders, approved of Alexei's forceful dismantling of the Russian Federation. Johnston compared it to the American Revolution, saying "We as Americans know the difficulty of fighting for freedom against an oppressive state, and we are willing to support Alexei Petrokov's Universalist government with anything it would need." From America, France, and Israel, Alexei collected fighter jets, armor, and artillery pieces for his soldiers, and with ten divisions armed with the best technology in the world, Alexei took the city of Tambov after a brutal battle in the Summer of 2020.
A short ceasefire was called after Tambov, in which two thousand Federalist defenders were killed, as opposed to four hundred Universalites.
Though they never married due to the constant war, Alexei and Karina's relationship was as strong as ever. Alexei confided in her in a way that he never did with anyone else. She was the brains behind Alexei's charisma, and in 2021 when the Universalite army was organized into two main forces, she was in charge of the logistics behind the troop movements.
On the home front, the citizens of Alexei's growing nation were taken in by their loving, realistic leader, and the high quality of living they enjoyed under his reign. Further up north, Vladimir Putin's men were pushed back all the way to Bryansk in 2022, and he decided to put all his forces into a decisive battle.
With divisions from as far as Siberia, the 36th Army, 41st Army, and massive 5th Army emerged straight from Kamchatka and Siberia. After an incident in the Bering Sea where a Russian battleship shelled a Canadian depot, the United States and NATO had passed economic restrictions on Putin's Russia, and with old Soviet equipment, the Federal forces were no match for Alexei's men. Alexei's army had FAMAS rifles, top of the line artillery and tanks, and Israeli halftracks, but the Federalists had the high ground of the Ural Mountains.
It was on March 15th, 2024, that Alexei ordered an advance toward the Federalist base at Yekaterinburg. On the 20th, contact was made between the Universalists and the Federalists. The battle raged a week in the wilds of the Ural Mountains, and on March 30th, Alexei received the bad news. The love of his life, Karina Bartok, had been killed in action. Within another week the forces of Federal Russia had been crushed, but Alexei would never be the same.
Aside from the charismatic mask he presented to the outside world, he holed himself up in his command center in most of his free time. He never lived more than three months in the same place, and the intensity of his attacks on Federal Russia became more impassioned. In 2025, the Universalists destroyed the final main Federal resistance at Smolensk and Tver, and Alexei's men encircled up toward Moscow.
The terms of the surrender were negotiated with Vladimir Putin, distraught beyond words at the loss of his great nation. Alexei was polite and respectful to Putin, eyewitnesses later reported, but ruthless in his terms. On the designated day, January 1st, 2026, the forces of the Universality Party marched into the city of Moscow. Seven hours before Alexei stood in the Kremlin, and the Universalite troops paraded up Red Square, Vladimir Putin had blown his head off with a rifle in his state bedroom. His funeral was well-attended, but as more of the mark of the passing of an age, as from affection toward Putin.
Moscow was Alexei's, and the Russian Federation had been effectively destroyed. A new order was about to emerge in the east, and the star of Alexei Petrokov was rising.

I probably had all of that stuff. But how the hell should I know? I was high and drunk.
I know I was accepted at the one Ivy League school I applied to, although there wasn't a chance in hell that I would be attending that one. So I must have done something right.
What I DIDN'T have was the internet, eating up 20 hours of my day.
Thankfully, I DO have that now. Whooooopeeeeeeeeeee

very interesting. i especially like the book details in the front. also liked the assumption that certain names would be recognized (black eagles and a list of other generals, things like that). didn't like this bit: can't say his name, we don't say his name, this is his name. otherwise, it was great.

Well written and has a very nice flow to it, but the pic confused the hell outta me. What do the 2004 Presidential Candidates have to do with this future history?
Also, I think you neglected to factor in Air Support in your description of the Strategic tactics between the two warring forces. This Battle Description reads more like how Napoleon conquered Europe rather that an accurate measure of the modern battlespace.
Still, well done.

I got the map from a 2004 election world map, and I forgot to delete out that little box, sorry ;(
Thanks. I'm trying to give it an epic, Napoleonic-Roman-Nazi feel of conquering the world, but I'll try to use air support in future installments. Area bombing is illegal now, though.
