First he took our freedoms.
And the American people shrugged.
Who could be bothered to stand up for their their Constitutional rights when American Idol was about to air? Who could be inconvenienced enough to care?
We became complacent. And in our complacency, we threw away a foundation of government for which our forefathers fought so bravely.
Now, our Constitution has been reduced to an historic symbol of times past. Something far more relevant to our museums than our courts.
I am not here to talk about the past, but to talk about the future.
The stakes have been raised. And we can no longer pretend that things are okay.
He has taken our freedoms, yes. But he is now after the most important thing of all: the bat of Ken Griffey Jr-- the very bat with which he hit countless majestic homeruns into the right-field upper-deck of stadiums across the country.
