We drove to Canada from Boston one night, my 3 friends and I that is. I think we got to the hotel around 2:00am.
Too tired to do anything, we all passed out by probably 2:45am
We woke up at probably 6:30 the next morning and packed up our gear, and headed for the mountain.
We paid our $60 (USD) Lift tickets.
We got to the top of the mountain.
On a whim, we decided to ski the back side of the mountain instead of the groomed North Face.
It took us 7 and a half hours to get to the bottom and back up.
We skied down the north face (the 'proper' side) in silence as the mountain began to prepare to close.
We Packed up our shit, and drove back to Boston.
Sounds like a pretty lame weekend, eh? 16 hours of driving for 2 runs down a mountain.. one of which took almost 8 hours?
Well I guess it kind of was, except for a few sweet pictures we took.
Mountains are BOSH!

my favorite resort is Mt Valinouët. but it's pretty far up north and isolated.
it's not very high either. but it's the only place on the east coast, that i know of, that doesn't require snow canons. it's a micro-climate. the temperature is very mild and it's almost always snowing.
anytime i've been there the snow conditions were perfect

i've never been to Jay Peak, but I believe its only about 2 hours South of Orford.. I know we drove by it, but i've never actually been there.
My friend works at Killington and I can ski for free there, so naturally its my spot of choice.
I have a house near Bethel, Maine where Sunday River is... but as far as skiing in the East, Nothern VT and Canada are the places to go.

i was out of contracts so we had the whole week to go.
one morning my boss called: "we got a project for you, you are expected tomorrow"
snowboarding at -35C fucking sucks.
worse trip ever.

Mt Orford.
it took around 7 hours to get down and back up... obviously we were taking our time.. and as you can see from the photo, we weren't always skiing on our descent.
Climbing to the top of a mountain in cold weather gear with backpacks and skis is time consuming.

That picture reminds me of a similar incident I had in college, where a mishap on a large sled caused me and said other two occupants to go flying in the air and land in a huge pile on a bed of snow/ice.
Fortunately, I managed to land on the top of that pile, and wasn't the one crushed by 400 lbs of people.

ironically, I DO have my motorcycle license.
Not because I applied for it, ..when I was 17ish I got my class D license to operate a vehicle.. but they mistakingly added the class 'M' on there.
I never corrected their mistake, but i haven't bought a bike yet, either.

don't get me wrong.. i dont have a bike.. which proved difficult because they don't even let you into the TOWN without one.
My buddy has a place on Lake Winnepesauke just on the other side of the Bay.. we had to take a bus from there to get into the rally. The show was sick though.. Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, and Foghat.

i've always dug bluegrass music.. picked up a guitar when i was 12.. and eh? what can i say.. i dig the southern twang.
my family (well my dad's side anyways, never met my mom) is from GA (though I was born and raised in the Boshton area) ..even though my dad wasn't a musician or much of a music fan, I suppose I get it from his side of the family.
i don't limit myself to one genre though.. i like almost everything... except ANYTHING released around the Nirvana craze.. which I had nothing to do with.

Molly Hatchet is coming to the Lake of the Ozarks on the 15th. No plans to see them but I was surprised. I didn't think they toured any more.
But I get to go see Tull on October 12th!
Oh yes. Oh hell yes!
Blackfoot's Train Train is nifty.
Tell me Bosh--what's a Boston boy like you doing listening to Southern-Fried, Redneck tuneage and hanging out with banjo pickers? I know my neck of the woods is uncouth, but I figured you Easterners attended concertos and wine tastings, monocles n' all.

honestly, i'm not much different among my 'real' friends in 'real life'.. I bash on scruggs, I use the word 'bosh' often, I get wildly intoxicated and have been referred to 'as incoherent as hunter s.'

haha below.
Relax, I gave him a 0 (worth reading) and he's not whining about it.
Give him all the +2s you want, I couldn't care less. I don't see people care about my ratings.
I went to his first post and read it because of what TTOM said previously, and the reviews were pretty nasty but Boshman bantered back with humor and came across as likeable in spite of the onslaught, to his credit.
I have no problem believing, over time, people would come to like him and because of that, as TTOM said, he would become a 'revered' figure.
Anyone can make their friends laugh. I doubt his stuff would make complete strangers laugh, but that's merely my opinion.
I personally don't think he's very funny or original but, again, that's just my opinion.
But tell me, FG. Should I "buy a bullet and rent a gun?"
I love those insults of yours, especially the 3000th time.
Like the Boshman's humor, they just never ever get old, do they?

Oh just fuck off. At least the "Bosh" character is original and entertaining in a Theatre of the Absurd sort of way.
But I guess we should delude ourselves into believing we are connoisseurs of culture and taste and competent judges of quality here at Ubersite.
Yeah, we're all a bunch of Pulitzer Prize winners here.
