Dear Uber,
Recently you have been complaining about how you've been dying. Fewer posts, alters, newbs, and a few old uber users leaving have all been cited as causes for your slow rot, this gangrenous sore that so many of you are quick to point out. But, dear Uber, lets all take a moment to step back and look at this situation from a different angle.
First off, I want to discuss the subject of newbs with you. Now, I understand when you flame a newb's post with your "-2 dies", there is usually some good reason, like poor spacing, grammar, or those idiotic posts about some asshole's personal life. However, because not everyone fully understands Uber and that wonderful way that you give and take criticisms, they get driven off. One, two, maybe as many as five posts and they stop posting. I'm sure you think "Well, they probably sucked, so why would we want them here anyway?" right? Wrong. That's exactly the kind of attitude you can't have. Instead of flaming these newbs, you should offer more constructive criticism. If you were to take it easier on new users, more people will stay, and if more people stay there will be more people posting and reviewing, and that is what Uber is all about.
You might say that you don't need new users, that you have plenty of old ones posting quality material. That is true, for now, but eventually people will leave, and you'll need more users to replace them. The one thing that you don't need, however, is alters. RabiedRooster got banned on the suspicion that he was an alter, even myself and Haiku Mikoo got banned for the same reason. I'm not sure how you determine that a user is an alter or not (feel free to tell me), but you need to develop a better system for determining that.
You seems so quick to shout about how you're is dying, and you are, but it is your own damn fault. You drive off new users and old users slowly leave, one by one. Then there are fewer posts and to keep us busy and fewer rating to massage our internet egos when we visit you, dear Uber. The combination of users getting banned, old users leaving and new users being driven off is killing you, dear Uber.

I told my kid brother when I was younger he could be an eskimo if he tunneled under the snow bank next to the road and hid there for 5 minutes.
The next time the snow plow made a pass, there was a long red streak that went from in front of my house, all the was around the block.
That was the last fucking time that piece of shit would eat my dessert.

The joy of Uber is when those personalities interact. Uber always needs new personalities, it never needs people with no personality.

What Berty said. It also NEVER NEEDS THESE UBERSITE SUCKS POSTS. This had GOT to be the 10th one I've seen in a month. I recognize you're actually trying to be somewhat helpful, which is more than these posts usually are, but the bottom line is, the people who tend to need your advice the most quite frankly don't care what you have to say- the trolls and such. And EVER trying to lecture Ubersite, as a whole and in seriousness, is futile and a little silly.

I have to say that being a relatively new person here, I think that the biggest problem on this site right now is people being on here but not contributing ANYTHING but harsh reviews and -2's. Alters or users that are too afraid to put their work out there for fear of a bad review while at the same time -2ing the shit out of people who put in real effort. To me this ruins the melting pot of information that I have come to enjoy. Like a user that has been on here for 6 months, posted twice, and now feels they have the ability to harshly rate those that post real stories and or information. Fuck off, put yourself out there and have fun.

I'm secure enough that I don't take anonymous e-abuse personally so I'd have stayed around even if I had gotten the -2nami on my first few posts. But actually, it's pretty easy to avoid the -2kakke if one but lurks a while before posting and does basic research. You're correct that Uber does need new blood, but there's no reason that it has to be fourth-rate new blood. What's wrong with keeping the bar raised a bit above the sinkers at the bottom of the e-sewer?
