So they just found him in front of his computer like that?
Yeah. Apparently he was going to do some work for a college class or something, but his brain just shut down from the stress. He can't move or react. His brainwaves only denote autonomic function.
Freaky.
They say it's been happening a lot lately. So many kids who've never had to worry or deal with anything before just freak out. Today's kids have technology strong enough virtually to replace actual human interaction. It keeps them from making real decisions, and affects their social reality. They've been under flourescent bulbs so long they've forgotten what real sunlight means.
Shouldn't there be some form of exercize that'd get them outside?
With new innovation in muscle stimulants, growth hormones, and workout machines, these people don't need real exercize anymore.
Can't the government step in?
They'd like to, but can't. It isn't illegal, and technically it's healthier to do things this way. Offers total protection until age 18, then they're cut off. They can't even bite the hand that feeds, because they become too docile to understand that they have any other choice. When they hit 18, they just shut down.
So we're here to collect the last of the humans?
Yep.
This is really the last of the master race, which once dominated the planet?
And we're working cleanup.
