one of the silver linings of the existence of emos is their failed attempts to die and their vigorous rejuvenation thereafter, followed closely by another frantic plummet into the bowels of emotional hardship and self-mutilation. It's like a fucking boxing match, man. That shit is exciting. I just wish people wouldn't cheapen the action by blaming it on manic-depression.
Or maybe it's like the NBA. It's fixed. You know the ending before you get there, but at least there is the thick, thick veil of earnest competition. That little cutter probably even convinces himself that he wants to die, but deep down he knows that it's the sense of vitality he gets from recovery that he's really after. If he's after surcease, he'll use a gun or a rope.
