I had a brindle boxer called Cleveland (after The Browns). His great-grandfather was an american champion, 'Cassagrande' something-a-rather, and poor old Cleveland only made it to five, because he was an inbred american like lungfish, and got spinal cancer. I fucking loved that dog.

Mainly because of Apollo Creed (HAR HAR pun), but also the lady was naming the dogs after gods and constellations and all sorts of crazy shit, so his name was "Dio," which is Spanish for God. It's a layered joke. The fact that he shared Apollo's name was an after-the-fact observation. His head's definitely not big enough to bear the same distinction.

MudWhistle- I didn't get to meet the dad, but the mom was really energetic and friendly. Out of the 10 pups in the litter this one was the second biggest, the most friendly, and probably the smartest (he was already using the doggy door and going outside instead of the kennel area). I almost went with a fawn-colored one, but I just couldn't pass up the brindle.
