SG made beef pasties last night which were heavenly, but which I am blaming for this dream.
I am no stranger to the zombie hoard dream. Especially after some Uberer posted a story about a week ago about the brain-eating bacteria in some lake in Arizona. My friends and I have honed our zombie plan which includes driving to a secluded area mostly devoid of human life in the form of my friend Justin's 200 acre ranch (Which will soon be a paintball field. With actual buildings and trenches and stuff. It's gonna rawk!) so I'm not really afraid of zombies. Abandoned schools at night, I'll piss on myself. But zombies are child's play. Speaking of which...
For some reason, I had 2 small girls, about 7 and 10, in tow throughout the dream. I don't know if they were kids from down the street (I don't know any), my daughters (I don't have any), or the sex slaves that I'm training in the basement. I mean.... what?
I don't know if it's pertinent to any impending interpretations or not, but the girls were wearing old-fashioned dresses and bows in their hair... like a little girl from, say, 1950's Suburbia would have worn. One was pink, one was blue.
The girls and I were escaping the infestation by ducking through alleyways and backyards and stuff. It was less like I was IN the dream and more like I was watching a grainy super 8 film of our ordeal. It's hard to describe... I was simultaneously inside my head, performing the actions, feeling the emotions and physical exertions, but at the same time, standing outside of us, watching the action. Okay. Not that hard to describe after all.
We started out with a group of friends that included people I haven't seen in a while, and we were all trying to save these girls. Weird thing of it was that as people in our group were getting bitten and taken down by the hoard, they weren't becoming PART of the hoard. Zombies, yes, but they were still coming along with us and not attacking.
By the end of the dream it had become clear that if the zombie knew you when they were bitten, and you were present when the bite occurred, then they continued to be cognizant of who they were to you and wouldn't bit you. They would, however, eat the fuck out of anyone else that came along. They didn't listen to you when you said don't.
By the end of the dream, my entire group had turned to zombies except for the girls and I, and we were running through a long series of small, unkept rooms with old plaster walls and wooden support beams... it looked like a mine shaft, sort of. We were taking another shortcut of some kind, and at the end of all these rooms, there was a big wooden door that looked like it had been hung somewhere between the creation of man and the smiting of Sodom and Gomorrah. We HAD to make it through this door, because there was no way to go back... the zombies were filling the passage behind us. But when we got to the door, it was secured with a really thick chain and padlock, and I couldn't kick it down.
Right before I woke up, the crowd of zombies had us cornered, and I was trying to shield these little girls from the zombies when, out of nowhere, my friends who had been turned into zombies formed a circle around us and pushed the crowd back so that we could squeeze out a very small window.
I now wish this dream had happened Wednesday night instead, so I could label this SPT.

Dear Texas asshole,
What the fuck do you think you're doing eating the Official Dish of the Great State of Michigan anywhere other than the state that's famous for it?
There is absolutely no excuse for you to be making, eating and enjoying pasties if you aren't spittin from the mitten and the rabbit.
And eating pasties outside of Deer Camp is almost a sin.
In conclusion, this is bullshit. There should be a law put in place making pasties illegal everywhere except Michigan and parts of Ontario.
Love,
Flack

Interesting.
Zombies=Society
You=You
Little Girls=Something about you
You are obviously protecting a part of yourself from the outside world. Shielding yourself so to speak. There is a part of you that is particularly vulnerable...or...it is this vulnerability itself that you don't want anybody to know about.
You have a few close friends who are aware of this part of you, who know about this part of you and they are willing to help you shield it from the rest of society. Thus the zombie friends. Maybe the 1950's era garb the girls are wearing signifies the fact that, while on the outside you want to remain very casual and cool, always showing an indifference to the radical contemporary, inside you are more of a traditionalist.
In any event, you may be protecting this side of yourself and you may be looking for a little help doing so.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it. :)
I love dreams.

Perhaps the zombies indicate your reluctance to accept death.
Maybe the running indicates your fear of the inevitable.
Maybe the children represent your views on parenting.
Perhaps you are protecting these children, because you want to be protected yourself.
Maybe dream interpretation is a skeptical, unreliable, and unstable form of analysis.

I'm no expert but I'd say that the zombies represent anxiety and the girls represent... I dunno, your future or something. Do you often fantasise about having a daughter? Not in a degenerate way, obviously, just in a "aww, I'd really like to have a daughter. I'd be like that cool dad in Heroes." sort of way?
Anyway, that's what I reckon.

Berty, I think it'll be less cathartic and more satisfying the curiosities of the Uberpopulace. I may do one someday, but not for a while. I haven't been back for very long... only since March. I still have rough nights where I have nightmares and sometimes noises will give me flashbacks and sweaty palms. Maybe once I feel like I actually belong around "normal" people again, I might consider it. But definitely not yet.

I'll be frank... the first time, I was scared as shit and it didn't feel anything like all of the ways I thought it would feel. It didn't make me feel powerful or tough or brave. I was scared and even though I didn't hesitate, all I felt was anxiety. After that, I felt a range of emotions that kind of depended on the situation. All in all, it's not really something I enjoy talking about.

yeah... I went 3 times. The first two were exciting, but the last one sucked, because I had a fucking heart attack on a road march.
All you have to do to convince girls that you just came back from Iraq is to get a very sunburned face, shave your head, and tell them you don't want to talk about it whenever they ask questions. Be sure to be very solemn and grim. It will also help if you don't run into any actual soldiers. They don't appreciate that.

I've had dreams shortly after returning from Iraq that everything I touched turned to sand.
Also, that new television show Pushing Daisies stole my greatest recurring dream... with one hand, I bring death, with the other, I bring life. If I use one, I have to use the other, and I also have to wear gloves at all times, because I can't control my power. Stupid ABC and their mind-wave readers.

i can even ice skate on fucking asphalt or beaches and i am so sharp and fast, that when i turn, i'm parallel to the ground (like when you slalom in snowboard) as it passes by at 300 mph.
of course, i can't skate for shit but it's awesome.

i dreamed some of my body parts were replaced with mechanic parts. but that didn't exactly make me an awesome cyborg. i was left crawling, all deformed and shit in a mix of organic matter and metal. and there was some fucking pelicans at some point.
that's all i remember and i don't know why i dreamed of that. all i know is that anytime i eat right before bed i have the most unpleasant dreams.

Yeah Danger, I'll concede that daughters can be scary. Would you rather have scary or tragic though? Eh? Ask yourself that one when you're looking at houses with an extra bedroom.
It's far better to walk in on your daughter being cornholed by some acne scarred punk than to walk in on your acne scarred, punk son hanging from the light fitting.
Crikey, with all this alarmist speculation I'm starting to feel a bit like Fox News.

I believe a High8 is a camera and a Super 8 is a motel...
aside from that, my zombie dream took place in a grocery store. I had to go on food runs with ambling rotting zombies chasing me back to the fortified manager's office.
I think mine was the result of nightmare pizza: pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, onions. and doom

If you have a daughter the worst that can happen is that they grow up to be fat, miserable and alone. If you have a son then he could grow into all manner of horrid things including:
a violent maniac.
A weird mother fucker who went to university to study animation who will live with you untill he is thirty.
A person who makes chronically bad decisions who ends up spanking all his money away (when he has any) and who you'll have to prop up constantly.
A teenage suicide ('cause most teenage suicides are boys).
and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

First off a zombie hoard is a very, very, very different thing to a zombie horde.
I think there was a case of zombie hoarding back in the late 40's when a Nigerian man who lived with his mother in East London was arrested for having a basement full of illegal immigrants with holes drilled in their heads.
