Gryphon is a Trakehner, which is a huge (though not Clydesdale huge) horse from central Europe. There are many branch lineages in North America, and one of them provided this example for us.
My wife, who as far as I'm concerned cannot at this point ask too much of me, once again surprised me with her heretofore-not-harped-upon desire to own and ride a horse. After all she has done for me, how could I stand in her way? Especially since she's spending her own money on her own expensive hobby. After some looking and a bit of luck, here is the result. My wife purchased Gryphon and keeps him at the stable where she rides.
It is now my opinion that all women should have a horse at some time.

Horses are awesome. Unfortunately, our neighbors threw my wife about a month ago, so it will be quite some time before we're in the market for some. That, and we don't have the money, land, or time for it.

FG: MLW has both the horse and the V-twin cruiser bike. She's excellent that way. We're awaiting the FL title for her bike (after several after-work evening's effort to get it running right) and she'll be in the wind again. She'd probably ride over to the stables if they weren't on really-unsafe sand two-tracks.

Auto +2 for the LW and her pretty horse. Oh, did she get that bike? Does she like it?
I used to ride teh horsies in my teenaged years, now I rides teh motorcycles.
The Man and I went to Fayetteville Arkansas this last weekend for the annual Bikes, Blues, BBQ rally. Borrowed my friend's Dyna Glide and rode around in the Boston Mountains.
Freaked out once at the beginning because of all the hairpin turns, then got used to it.
There was a dude at the campground who would walk up to the showers every morning in only his underwear and boots. <blinks>
However all in all, good outing.

I recently received a bottle of 'Woodford Reserve' from a cohort in Kentucky. Damn' fine. You people know what you're doing when it gets down to bourbon. It's now a permanent fixture in my bar.

I'll check it out.

I'm terrified of horses. We have six of them at the moment, and the only one I can get near is Inky - an ancient, wizened mini-horse who spends most if not all of her time standing very still and staring into space.
Gryphon is beautiful. He's very shiny.

horses scare the shit outta me cos you can't turn them off.
horses always do what they want when i ride them.
i'll stick to motorcycles thanks - much safer.
does wifey have a cowguy hat, or those silly english bobby hats?
----------
I'm with you: motorcycles are more predictable. Gryphon tolerates me but doesn't like me. My bikes like me. MLW wears English riding gear, onaccounta that's the riding style she's chosen.
