I gazed at that wretched thing. It was twinkling at me in the dim light of my room. I wrinkled my nose and bit my lip.
A rather cute expression and I knew if anyone had seen it they would have thought it adorable.
I heard music in the background.
"Tonight , I'm tangled in my blanket of clouds
Dreaming aloud
Things just wont do without you, matter of fact....." the singer crooned.
I tore my mind away from the music and again focused on this horrid thing lying in front of me.
"Apple..." I whispered, "A poisoned Apple, a terrible Apple, a miserable Apple."
I resisted the urge to bring my clenched fist upon the Apple.
Instead I stroked it, running my fingers along the ridges of its keys.
This piece of metal. The only thing that connected me to the world.
To a social scene, to a music scene, to a fashion scene.
All the very core of me.
I'm nothing without it, and everything with it.
I could do naught in the "real" world. I relied on this beautiful machine. He was my life.
My everything!
"I love you," I whispered, laying my tired head on his keys, his letters, "Even though you just deleted my report. For love is about taking good with the bad. You are my one and only."
He just beeped in response.
He said to me:
"Your computer will now restart in order to install new updates."
I sighed contentedly, I knew he loved me.
He was just shy.
