Which side of your brain do you use the most? If it's the right your more of an emotional thinker who gets more out of symbolism and religion and is more of a dreamer it seems. While a primarily left brain thinker is more logical, detail oriented and practical.
This site has a rotating image of a woman and depending on which side of your brain you use the most it spins either clock wise or counter clock wise depending on the person. Some see both, and can even make it switch almost on command, while others seem to find it unreal that anyone could see it rotate any direction other than the one they can see.

At first I saw it rotating clock wise, then it would switch left after a while of looking at it. My second time looking at it I was pretty tired and trying not to fall asleep and was able to make it switch left and right at will about 10 times before it started spinning counter again and I lost it.
This is such a brain fuck. I bet if you were drunk or high it would be either the most fascinating or scary thing you've ever seen.

I only saw clockwise, and no matter what, I couldn't make her go counter-clockwise. I tried staring intently for so long and so hard my eyes hurt, and I tried looking at something in the corner of the page and watching it in my peripheral vision, but it was no good.

Not that anybody cares, but I've investigated it a bit further. There's no trick. The .gif doesn't randomize its direction and there's no javascript reloading the image or any other tech hoaxes. The .gif is the exact same 34 frames, over and over again.
It's all a matter of the perspective and the lighting. The shadow of the extended foot could be where it is if:
1. The dancer's leg is coming out (i.e., toward the camera) from the right to left, and the lighting was overhead
OR
2. The dancer's leg is coming out from left to right, and the lighting is behind the figure
Basically, since the light can't be seen and the perspective is ambiguous, your brain starts making assumptions about where it is and how it affects the picture. I don't understand how this makes you analytical or creative, but then again, I'm not a neurologist.
What's really trippy is when you start analyzing it and it looks like she's going back and forth, swinging the leg to the front from left to right and and right to left over and over again, never swinging it behind.
So basically, my first assessment was completely wrong and foolhardy.
Also, I evidently am WAY too bored at my job.

There's something that's BS about this thing. I've seen it before, I just haven't figured out how to prove it yet. I'm 99.9999% convinced that it's a hoax of some kind.
By the way, if you open the image up in an animated .gif editor, the dancer's right leg is being held up, spinning to the front from right to left.

ok.
i've been trying to make her change direction since you posted this.
i've tried doing math problems in my head.
i've tried tracing her outline with my mouse (which was actually sort of fun, for a few minutes)
i tried focusing on one body part, and i tried again while moving the screen up and down.
i've tried doing the strobe light thing where i blink really fast
she doesnt spin counter-clockwise. she just doesnt.

I notice that focusing on certain aspects of right or left brained thinkers gets you spinning the desired direction, IE: trying to be an emotional thinker or a logical thinker. But its hard, your brain knows its being tricked.
