One of these is unfortunately true....
1. It was the Queenstown 2006 Winter Festival, my best friend and I had travelled down there for the weekend to see what snow looked like and to get drunk in bars that were open for 24hrs.
Queenstown, as with all touristy type places, has these 'adventure' activities you can take part in, as part of the unique kiwi experience, such as jet-boating, hang-gliding, breathing fresh air and bungy-jumping.
Over the course of the weekend, we had befriended a few of the locals who ran some of these activities, and so it happened that on our last night, the locals asked me if wanted to be 'surprised'.
Looking down on them with my 'city' attitude, I said 'sure'. What an Idiot.
A blindfold was put over my head and I was put into what I thought was a car (I had been drinking), I was then led out and felt what was a harness strapped onto me. At this point I figured they were going to dunk me in ice cold water or some such.
The last part of the preparations for the 'surprise' involved be being held upside down - still thinking I was going to be dunked in water I held my breath as the blindfold was suddenly taken off....to reveal that I was hanging suspended over the edge of a high cliff.
I barely had time to let out a horrified scream before they let go and I swung down, free falling until the harness/ rope thingy caught me.
I had forgotten that they operated the sky swing, and it was one of the worst experiences ever. I still have nightmares that I'm falling.
2. One day while at work, I hear on the radio that next weekend, if you wanted to go bungy-jumping off the Auckland Harbour Bridge - it would be half price.
I managed to convince a few workmates and friends that this would be the best thing ever.
The Harbour Bridge is one of the cities busiest - not only providing bungy-jumps but bridge walks and scenic tours in boats and kayaks all around the bridge area - so on any given day, there's alot of people hanging around.
We arrive and get strapped up and one by one we each walk the plank and leap off the edge, well that was the plan anyway.
I was the fifth person to jump and by this time I had worked myself into a state of panic, heights have never really been my thing - case in point being the time I peed myself alittle on the 'giant drop' at Dreamworld, Gold Coast.
I make my way to the edge of the plank and look down, there was a boatload of people who had stopped underneath to watch.
I decided then and there that I wasn't going to do it, the man supervising me had differents thoughts about this and quickly yelled '3,2,1 GO'! and pushed me over the edge.
Down I went, only to have the jolt of the rebound snap my bra strap causing the bra to fall away and seeing as how my shirt was already flapping around my face - my boobs were hanging out for all see as I seesawed up and down on the bungy cord.
My impromptu strip show was also caught on video. Which has entertained my friends ever since.

Both of these stories are fascinating and disturbing, but I'll have to say:
#1 - false
#2 - true
Only because I would seriously hope that you wouldn't let some random locals blindfold you...nothing good ever comes of that sort of situation.
And this just reinforced my commitment to never, ever try bungee jumping. I'd rather cliff dive into an ocean first.
