i walk the streets
lost in the rain.
the stones in the street
catch my heels
and i stumble
past the chinese
selling naked red ducks.
past drummers
and vagrants
saying things to me
i don't understand.
past a library
i have no card for.
up ahead i see
a restaurant of dark wood.
i push open the door
and there you are
at the bar.
my heart leaps.
i leap
like a wild animal
straight into your waiting
(waiting!)
waiting arms.
you lift me up high
and spin me round and round
just like in the movies.
dervish kisses;
so long (so long!)
so soft.
a dream.
as a birthday party
noisy and raucous
quiets and melts
nearby.
later
half-drunk drinks on the bar.
we watch each other in the mirror.
and the long longing
is over.
"we should start now.
right now."
and an umbrella closes
somewhere.
you take my hand
and we head out
into the rain.
into the streets.
i'm not lost anymore.
we change into different people
and your hand is steady on mine.
city streets blur
car tires make hissing noises
kissing noises
on the wet pavement.
and i know i'll never leave here
however hard it rains
because to see your eyes is comfort
like being home again.

I have a poetry label in my user info, though there's only a handful there. Some are very personal and some are downright silly. I think this is the one I enjoyed writing the most.:)

But this is the internet, and there are no stickers on the internet.

Aren't they though? I miss mine, I never read anymore, I don't get to watch awesome movies for free, etc...
That's what I get for moving and not having my name on any bills/leases.
Well, I am on the lease as, "allowed to live in his (in reference to my roommate) place" despite the fact that "he" pays 1/3 of the rent.

I'm actually really sad about my lack of a costume. I thought I brought my old space ghost costume (which was never worn for Halloween, incidentally) up here, and I was going to die it red and paint a black C on the chest.
When I was in high school...wait, some program for dropouts and losers in general at the local community college, I wrote a couple of episodes for a really crappy animated series type thing. The main character/super hero was named Collapso. He could fly, and also collapse onto people...I dunno, he's like...super heavy...or something.
I'll probably send it to you so we can laugh at me, together.

======
That made me giggle.
Also, yes. Two weeks.
Also, I get yelled at by an ugly stripper for not wanting any lap dances or ta-tas in my face. I gave my roommate $23, 20 for some lap dance special, and 3 for face ta-tas.
All I got out of it was a lecture from the two ugliest strippers there.
They're damn lucky I wasn't drunk, drunk haiku would have caused such a ruckus. Stoned haiku just stood there and took it.
"Well, now that I refuse to come back here ever again, I bet she's going to make even MORE money. I guess that's why all strippers have to go to college."

In my neighborhood
When shots go out
No one bothers
A POP, and a reply POP, and no reply
Dinosaurs on the quilt I wore
With a girl
Such a classic girl
Such a classic girl
Gives her man a great idea
And hears you tell your friends
Hey man, why don't you listen to my great idea!
It's true I am a villain
When you fall ill
that's probably because
Men never can be
Not like a girl
A classic girl
Such a classic girl
They may say, those were the days
But in a way, you know
For us these are the days
Yes, for us these are the days
And you know you're my girl
Such a classic girl
Such a classic girl
Yeah for us these are the days

hi, lung!
i'm not make-believe.
i'm a real girl now.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMkay.great song below.
1-I wish I was little bit taller,
I wish I was a baller,
I wish I had a girl who looked good
I would call her
I wish I had a rabbit in a hat with a bat <------------- this is so fucking awesome!
and a six-four impala
I wish I was like six-foot-nine
So I can get with Leoshi
Cause she don't know me but yo she's really fine
You know I see her all the time
Everywhere I go, and even in my dreams
I can scheme a way to make her mine
Cause I know she's livin phat
Her boyfriend's tall and he plays ball
So how am I gonna compete with that
'Cause when it comes to playing basketball
I'm always last to be picked
And in some cases never picked at all
So I just lean up on the wall
Or sit up in the bleachers with the rest of the girls
Who came to watch their men ball
Dag y'all! I never understood, black
Why the jocks get the fly girls
And me I get the hood rats
I tell 'em scat, skittle, scabobble
Got hit with a bottle
And I been in the hospital
For talkin' that mess
I confess it's a shame when you livin' in a city
That's the size of a box and nobody knows yo' name
Glad I came to my senses
Like quick-quick got sick-sick to my stomach
Overcome by the thoughts of me and her together
Right?
So when I asked her out she said I wasn't her type
(rpt 1, 1)
I wish I had a brand-new car
So far, I got this hatchback
And everywhere I go, yo I gets laughed at
And when I'm in my car I'm laid back
I got an 8-track and a spare tire in the backseat
But that's flat
And do you really wanna know what's really whack
See I can't even get a date
So, what do you think of that?
I heard that prom night is a bomb night
With the hood rats you can hold tight
But really tho' I 'm a figaro
When I'm in my car I can't even get a hello
Well so many people wanna cruise Crenshaw on Sunday
Well then I'ma have to get in my car and go
You know I take the 110 until the 105
Get off at Crenshaw tell my homies look alive
Cause it's hard to survive when your livin'
In a concrete jungle and
These girls just keep passin' me by
She looks fly, she looks fly
Makes me say my, my, my
(rpt 1, 1)
I wish I was a little bit taller y'all
I wish I was a baller...
I wish I was a little bit taller y'all
I wish I was a baller (3)
Hey, I wish I had my way
'Cause everyday would be a Friday
You could even speed on the highway
I would play ghetto games
Name my kids ghetto names
Little Mookie, big Al, Lorraine
Yo you know that's on the real
So if you're down on your luck
Then you should know just how I feel
Cause if you don't want me around
See I go simple, I go easy, I go greyhound
Hey, you , what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down
Ahhhh, yes, ain't that fresh?
Everybody wants to get down like dat
(rpt 1, 1)
I wish, I wish, I wish (fade out)

hello!
is your life happy today?
i wrote a little poem about the earth where people are some sort of STD that has infected the poor little mud ball. it made me laugh. then i erased it. i do that sometimes.
it's like the sand pantings that asian monks and native americans do...where they create something pretty and then destroy it aftwerwards. except mine are of lesser value and skill.

kk well, the first line is from "Red Hot Moon" by Rancid (first thing that came to mind when I saw the picture).
Secondly, David McWane is the utterly badass lead singer of Big D and the Kids Table, a ska band out of Boston. He is also a published poet; his book, "The Gypsy Mile," is full of poetry and all his song lyrics. One thing I have noticed after reading and listening to his work is that he almost always tells a story.
The poem you have written reminded me of some of his stories.

"Under, the red hot moon take the bus downtown to the graveyard shift tonight"
In other news, this reminds me of David McWane. Don't feel bad if you don't know who that is.

That's as good as poetry is ever gonna get from me, unless it's a song, like "More than a feeling," which I'm listening to right now, and it fucking rocks, becuase Boston was a kick ass band.
Except for that whole "Amanda" thing. Someone should have taken a bullit in the head for that one.
I wanna drop some Prozac!
