OH NO, NOT A GOODBYE POST - WHO THE FUCK CARES????????!!!!!!!!
Odd feeling this...... firstly, I cannot believe I am saying good bye to a website. Ninety nine percent of people whom I shall never meet..
Madness setting in surely (can't be old age - surely..)
But then I think.... why NOT say good bye to a website when I once said hello?
And there have been some nice people. They don't all laugh about stories of rape. They're not all alter cowards who hide behind personas.... There are good, decent posts that are interesting or amusing - its not like they're all obsessed with a picture of a rabbit with 'HAR HAR' attached to it. They're not all that juvenile. (YES THEY ARE)
There are the genuine nice people that I've come to listen to and banter with. And some good aspiring authors. There are the good and the bad everywhere and I feel after three and a half years that a goodbye is due - at least to the ones I've met and spoken to on email at other times.
Oh and before I go - the reasons I am 'pulling a Shlongy' and retiring?
1. There are a lot of negative vibes floating around on this website - more than I used to remember but hey, I could be wrong. Maybe it was always like this? Either way, I like happy vibes. It's as simple as that. My tomatoes in the garden give me more pleasure these days.
Oh, and the intelligence level on Uber at the moment is dropping faster than Michael Schumacher on a good day. Although there are exceptions.
2. I used this website to write pieces and pick up help and advice from any critics. Now this, I admit, I will miss a little but I shall carry on writing anyway.
3. I find myself not reading much here anymore, and visiting even less. Maybe I'm just too old for this?
4. I'm starting a new contract in London next week and in the evenings and weekends I am doing my part time degree. I won't have time to play on the internet anymore. Other than to look up scientific words I don't get on my assignments.
5. I realised that if anyone I knew worked out that I was on Uber that I'd be embarrassed. Like having bad friends at a dinner party.
6. I used to use this website when I was bored. It served its purpose and I am no longer bored. It was fun while it lasted.
To the (really clever) people who reply "waah, waah, cut yourself" - 2004 called - it wants its comment back. Ha ha ha.
I don't doubt that one day in the future I'll look back at this place but I won't be posting again. Bye you beautiful bunch of freaks...

There are loads of good people on Uber, there's just a bunch of bad ones as well. They're harmless though, and quite pleasant on a good day. Truthfully as long as there's one decent person of worth left on Uber it's always worth checking back here. And I intend to be here untill Bart closes the site, God forbid that day ever comes.
So there'll always be a good reason to come back to Uber, which is why nobody ever leaves. They just take a break.
