I am fascinated by Internet memes...large and small. Übersite has many localized memes, that are specific to this site, some good, some bad, and some we just would go away but someone has to keep bringing back.
Seeing Urbane's gash in another thread, in all its hairy knuckled glory, made me think of two other memes that have been traversing the internet lately.
Recently I have been getting a kick out watching people's reactions (real or staged) to the 2 girls 1 cup video.
I thought to myself how fucked up could it be? I have been to the end of the internet and back. Faced many fearsome pictures and movies, that before I would have to bribe an Albanian Slave trader with a midget and a pair of Levi's to obtain grainy bootleg copies of freakshow videos.
After watching dozens of reactions across YouTube and other venues my curiosity was piqued so I finally Googled the term and read the summaries.
Hrm...I consulted with a few Internet savvy friends and asked: "Have you seen the 2 girls 1 cup video?"
No one I spoke to in the real world had even heard of it, but the I live in Durham, NC, not the most culturally diverse place in the world, let alone tech savvy, but I can get to most cool places I want to go with a 6 hour drive or a 6 hour flight.
But I digress,
I finally cleared some time in my busy life and found a link to the video.
While I don't want to discuss the actual content of the video, I was able to watch it start to finsih without puking, gagging or looking away.
I felt more manly than Joe Rogan, I had watched his reaction earlier and bookmarked it to show a buddy who was on his way over, I also bookmarked the 2 girls.
Chills arrived and I asked him if he was up to a challenge, being the good old redneck that he is, it was easy to bait him into watching 2 girls. I only had to show him Joe Rogan's reaction and confess that I had watched it myself, and he was all about it.
While we watched the Joe Rogan, he mentions another site: BME Pain Olympics Finalists.
I will not spoil the surprise nor share the links, if you want to punish yourself, go ahead, but you gotta work for it. The BME folks do give us a new meaning to the phrase "axe wound".
Back to my original topic, Internet memes, have a LoLcat.

A Roman shower is just when two girls puke on each other. Actually, I guess it could be two guys or a guy and a girl, but who wants to watch that. The first time I saw one it was two Japanese girls, and instead of coming, they vomited on each other.

I watched the whole 2girls1cup.com video this weekend for the first time. It was awful but I'd already seen SWAP.avi so I'm pretty well desensitized to that kind of stuff. Still one of the most depraved things ever though.

not that i dont think i could sit through it all the way, but i just dont feel like watching it. i watched that cobb77 stuff and was only minimally grossed out. i have a high threshold for that sort of stuff, but it's the painful shit that makes me feel sick. like the videos of people cutting other people's heads off, or a video my cousin showed me a few years ago of some dude getting his dick cut off by hedgeclippers - thats the sort of stuff i dont need to watch.
That dick video is the most horrible thing I've ever seen.
www.steakandeggs.com used to be good for a lot of this stuff. I havent been there in ages though.

When you see the worst things there are to see, nothing else bothers you. For me the worst has to be the pics of corpses people have strung up to fuck and left sitting for weeks. Its not so much the actual pictures, just the thought of some guy fucking that. If I saw a video of a guy sticking his dick in a real, honest-to-God dead body, with pieces falling off, I would be thoroughly grossed out. Other than that--aw, its just poop, its all natural! I had a roommate who was into Roman showers (not with me, mind you) and pooping isn't that far off. hai2u is probably what got him started, and after that I never wanted for sites with girls puking on each other.

I saw 2girls1cup in 10th grade, which was 2001, and i don't know why it has just exploded in popularity this year. Maybe it wasnt at that easy-to-type-in URL at that time, i don't know cos a friend looked it up and showed it to me. Basically, why is it big now when it's been around for ages?
