God, I'm sorry. See, I'm kind of a compulsive replier, in that as soon as I read a comment like that, I automatically go to make my response, regardless of who posted it or whether it has been corrected in another reply. I imagine that was much the case when I shot off that thing about Lansing.
I think I might have been countering one of my fellow idiot citizens in the States. I've run in to people, mostly from the Pacific coast, who just can't identify Michigan on a map. Maybe it's because I've lived here all my life, but I think Michigan is one of the most distinctly-shaped of the states. It's two giant fucking penninsulas, one of which is shaped like a mitten (although that's a similarity that mostly only Michiganders see, apparently). It's not like an amorphous blob shape, like most other states. But there are a startling amount of Americans who have no idea what Michigan looks like.
Not a fucking clue.
So, in my mind, what chance does the average person have of labeling any city in Michigan other than Detroit the capital? Then again, I bet these are the same people who think New York City is the capital of New York, Chicago the capital of Illinois, and Boston the capital of Massachusettes...wait, scratch that last one.
This is my long-winded, off-hand way of saying I'm sorry for lumping you in with other stupid Americans. I realize an apology from me isn't much, but I hope you won't walk away thinking I'm too much of a dickhead.

Lansing is not better than Ann Arbor. But I would go to this anyways if it was in Feburary or later, due to the fact that I will be moving to Lansing for a little bit.
