Fuck tour guides. I never use them.
I did know the Medici Palace from a renaissance architecture class and Il Duomo is awesome, but the rest I had to google to get the names...I dont know everything...yet. haha.

What I remember of Italy was that you couldn't go to any major photo-op location without seeing a McDonalds sign somehere in the picture. That sucked. Nobody wants to the see McTrevi Fountain.

I did UK, France and Italy this past summer. I intend to go to the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland/Austria next summer. Then hopefully Scandinavia the next summer.
Sorry for the lack of me photos...I didn't thing you guys would want to see that, but I will provide more info./me when I do Rome.

To be honest the pictures aren't all that interesting themselves... as much as I do enjoy the vicarious nature of a young nerdling like yourself traveling the globe this little show n' tell need WAY more in the telling department.
