People often wonder at the marvel that is snowflakes. You'll hear a dad telling his son that "every one is special, every one is different". This is true. And its kind of cool how they form cool patterns and shit, but seriously. People only like them because they're aesthetically pleasing. Nobody gives a shit about how no two pieces of bark are exactly alike, and how all pieces of bark are unique and special. But bark is more special than snowflakes. And guess what? No two turds are alike either. But who goes around telling kids about the magic of mother nature making every turd unique and precious? Well, I do, but it's not enough. Spread the word. Snowflakes are such bullshit. They're put on such a pedestal and I'm sick of it.

People that go on and on about how beautiful a single snowflake can be have never been splashed by freezing filthy fucking slush whilst waiting for a bus. Yeah, that's what snow ends up as in the city, jerks.
One snowflake = meh.
A hojillion snowflakes, in the country, on a morning when you don't need to go into work, see kids off to school, or wake your significant other to shovel the walk/driveway = pretty.

I think part of it is that people like to have that peace of mind, sitting inside their house next to the fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa, watching the gentle snow fall down. Even if you dont have a fireplace, I think people try to recreate that comfort zone in their minds so they like to believe that snow is special. I guess it helps people relax and appreciate the finer, less noticeable things in life? I dont know.
