You may be tempted to do this because they're small things that fit easily in a purse or stroller. People who do that look utterly foolish, so if you fall into this practice you'll find that your friends begin to stay away from you. Hopefuly you already know this and will remember that it's just a pet.

No. I don't do that. That is crazy when people do that. The Paris Hiltons and Britney Spears. They get their dogs from Pet stores and think they're doing some great big favor. Of course I'm all for pet store dogs to find good homes. But people just keep supporting these puppy mills when they do.
Go to www.hua.org website and read about the puppies and their horrible stories and the abuse and neglect that they go through. Its heartbreaking.

I can tell you this. There is a screening process for obvious reasons. They don't want an abadoned or abused dog ending up with another abuser.
However, I've been in touch with the people there and they're very nice and will answer any questions you might have.
Look into it.

Reading some of the sad stories on that website about the dogs and puppy mills, brings me to tears. Then again, I'm an animal lover and sap.
