This takes place after the control orientation, but before the cleanup.

Control orientation - http://www.ubersite.com/m/113749
Cleanup - http://www.ubersite.com/m/111710

That's right. It's a series, and I refuse to announce when the next part is coming out, or to put them in order

What are you doing? What did you do?

Look at them, and you tell me.

They're freaking out. What did you do?

I turned off their technology.

Why then would they be running around, screaming, most likely in terror, in broad daylight?

That part wasn't my idea.

How so?

The locks on their doors are all digital. They can't get in or out without it, so they're trapped. They must have panicked after the first few hours.

Remember that talk we had about abusing power?

Yes, and I have it covered. They'll be getting a letter in the mail in three days to explain that the power company made an error.

Listen, we'll call it a controled test so there won't be many questions asked.

So, now that I've got it contained, and I've been watching it the whole time, now what?

You monitor them, and make progress reports. If it starts to become too much for you, let me know, and I'll fix it.

How so?

Their house will be robbed, and the family will die. If this was a small town, you'd be on at least six months probation pending a hearing, but since it's a city, we'll call it a nessisary test of inter-city culture, and you'll get a warning.

Six months seems a little harsh, doesn't it?

It's the same ammount of time it takes them to return to normal. To go from "It'll never happen" to "It'll never happen again."

You're kidding? Only six months?

Often less. It's how we get away with most of what we do. They forget everything within about two weeks, unless they're reminded often, can use it to their advantage, if they need to know it, or if we allow them to know it.

A short one. You don't get to know how many chapters are in it either.

Felt it was only fair that I get back to actual writing for a while, after DrogoRoch, whom I can't thank enough, found my movie.

Out at five, catch General Sherman at five-thirty, clean him at six, eat
him at six-thirty, back in bed by seven with no incriminating evidence.
Heh heh heh. The perfect crime.
